the cut off for size would be as big as the games will allow, which is 2 hundred and something vxls in each dimention. as for the concert size from 3ds to vxl issue, I'll add detail into it, that way the model need more work the larger it's going top be rendered, if your going to be rendering it to the max I want to see bults were the plates of metal on the hull join or whatever to get full points, were as if it's ACC size it obviously won't need that detail.

ok, you might have noticed I changed it to accomidate your worries, if anyoe else beleives it's unfair in some way tell me by midday on sunday, eastern standard time. If I beleive it needs fixing I'll do so.

I disagree with the scoring criteria requiring 'bigger is better' up to 30 points. Are you going to weight the points awarded based on sizes submitted or are you going to have a cut off point where you say 'right thats big enough' (in which case entrants should be informed so as to not waste time scaling up unnessesarily)? Also, for someone using 3DS>VXL, all they need to do is to make sufficiently detailed model and then render it out as a voxel using the largest resolution that 3DS>VXL will allow and that the game can still use without dying and instant 30 points.

Making a sufficiently detailed model is crucial though. Yes, a person could model this in 255 voxels at 0.7 aspect ratio (or whatever the hell it is) but I know from experience that then the model would need gobs of detail to not look like a giant cartoony turd.

Also 3ds to vxl conversion are normally full of errors & so unless they redo a lot of it by hand after they would get naff scores on most other things

for those who are curiouse it was a single layer vxl with the words "if I'm the only entrent I guess I must win" and a smily. I told him on msn it didn't count
