Hey guys, it's Mateus, formerly known as Matt from BFMEMAPS.COM
Some of you may have been adventurers of my site back in the days of original BFME 1.

Well between the time of the BFME 2 BETA release and the final game release I've been working hard on a new site, BFMEMAPS.COM will soon be released to the world in all its glory; a proper download system, forum system, news system and photo gallery, all seemingly intergrated with each other and interactive to all users. The site now has a much more dynamic feel to it with greater and richer qualities.

Enough about the site, let's get to the video tutorials! It's true that WB2 is extremely similar to WB1, and therefore my original video tutorials, recommended by Apoc from EA, are still compatible and you can still learn a lot from them if you are new to the World Builder tool.

If you are intrested in creating your own video tutorials for the World Builder, I used a program called Camtasia Studio to record them. :-)

So, here they are! All of these video tutorials are copyrighted to Matthew Davies, 2005-2006.

For Beginners

[Video] World Builder Beginners Tutorial (Approx 10 mins - Recommended to all beginners)

Scripting

[Video] Command Points Tutorial
[Video] Intro Text Tutorial
[Video] Money Tutorial
[Video] Object Health Tutorial
[Video] Object Sizing Tutorial
[Video] Power Points Tutorial
[Video] Teleporting Tutorial
[Video] Unit Death = Lose Game Tutorial

You will find a couple more tutorials at BFMEMAPS.COM, they are not listed here for WB2 compatibility
issues.

These may seem very basic to those of you that have built up your World Builder skills, but just taking a look at these tutorials can start you off into the complex world of scripting! So to all those of you intrested in making exciting things happen in maps, or giving your players tons of money, pop cap etc, you may want to get some basic scripting under your belt!

You'll be pleased to know that I'll soon be starting work on some more video tutorials, specifically for the WB2, covering such topics as the three new water tools, new objects and other such things.

That's it for now folks!

Great stuff, very professionally done. No wonder I see your site on EA community links. Also nice to hear directly from our oldest affiliate here at T3A.

I remember how impressive your BFME1 list of d/l maps were. Can't wait to see what you have in store. Please come anytime and help guide us throught the "mapping the game" process.

All help is appreciated as good tutorials for WB is not our strong point as you noticed. Thanx for stoping by Mat. Hope to see more of you here.

Cute! Good for beggining mappers, but it doesnt mean anything for more experienced mappers... You should make a tutorial that tells you how to make Cinimatics (IE the Camera Options Tool). NOONE had a tutorial on that, it took me a LONG time to find it.

Yeah Ive been looking for the same thing. How do you make it so CINE_ objects appear during gameplay? I want to place the eye of Sauron tower in a map Im creating, but it doesnt show up when I load the map in the game. Sorry to go off topic.

As I said, there is none :( CINE_Objects shouldn't be used, they dont work well. Some of them are ok, but most are interesting animations and such and have to real gameplay Value. Some are just screwed up (The Eye of Sauron object for instance) and can only be used by EA.

EDIT: When I said "It took a long time to find it" I meant the tool. As of yet I havent found a tutorial on the camera options tool. :(

The camera tool lets you manipulate the camera using scripts, not actually record Video. You will still have to use fraps to capture it onto a video file.

Maybe since the site is down, its time to un-sticky this? It no longer serves a purpose

Just make a topic, there's plenty of people like myself who can help you out.

And if I remember right, the video tutorials weren't great, all they showed was CP, Money and other simple scripts.

Well, really, all I need is a simple script. I need help with setting up a win/loss script for a two-player BFME 1 map. Is that a simple script?

What do you mean, conditions? Isn't that mostly universal? One team's buildings are completely destroyed, they lose. Don't most people do that?
