"He's dead"
"I'm sorry"

but i'm not.
I did not know him and i did not cause his death. Why do i have to say sorry?

I've been looking for a reply which acknowledges the fact someone has said "he's dead", yet does not say "i'm sorry".
Something like "I regret to hear that" - even this does not work, as you may have wanted to know the dead persons status.

Anyone wish to share a sentance thay use when thay hear someone is dead?

if the world is only half explored, then the other half (after quantum functions, observer effect) does not exist until you see it

Which is true by a certain degree of certainty (said this a quadrillion times now).

Nothing-energies are the way to deal with this... have you ever tried fighting with fog?

I did not know him and i did not cause his death. Why do i have to say sorry?

Because you mentioned something painful to the person.

True, yet, why do we have to suffer when there is enough of it already?

As above, in german we say "mein herzlichstes beileid"

"beleid" means that we are suffering with them. Of course it is not easy to just forget about that sort of thing... BUT everyone does not have to suffer because of that.

trust me on this one, and don't say it to an atheist... you will receive a lecture. Unless the person is really cool, then you may be ok.

I've never had a problem with it before. I am an athiest myself, I have no belief in God, Devil, Heaven or Hell.

I say it because they are usually at peace now. Almost every time I have said it the person that had died was very sick, and in pain.

One time I did get somewhat of a lecture. They had said something to this extant (not exact words but pretty close) "A better place? Yeah right, he was a complete asshole, with any luck he's being tortured in hell" :ermm:

Wish I still knew german :( Havnt bee able to speak it since I was young.

I was just about to say, what if they aren't in a better place, what if they were evil? Then there in hell and I really doubt thats better than heaven, unless they don't have speed metal in heaven, then I want hell.

I tend to just say unlucky, or since there's normally lots of people asking if the person is okay i'd say.
"You asking if he/she is okay isn't gonna help much is it?"
Then I turn to the person and say
"really though, are you okay?"

It sounds lame, but it always gets a smile.
