Seeings as how R* is already owned by Take Two....

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

It would mean TakeTwo were bought...and even EA wouldn't fork out that much, heh.

And tbh, I wouldn't be at all bothered, as I don't tend to play RockStar games much. However, the GTA radios would become cluttered with god-awful EA Trax...which has got to be the shittiest compilation of the world's worst music ever.

NFS and Burnout have both been utterly ruined, pissed on, and shit on by this feature. Burnout 3 contained only one good track (This Fire by Franz Ferdinand), while no other game from either series has had anything else decent.

PGR is going a similar route (although not owned by EA), altho it has GOOD tracks, and also has the ability for you to add your own.

Rock Star would never let this happen because if you look at it you would have GTA any more. EA has their rights and R* has their own and EA isn't really into making extreme violent games other than R* is and same as Midway, Midway would also notlet EA buy them out because of the same rights and issues.

Well actually you can play your own tracks on any 360 game thanks to the guide system. On the Xbox it was only on PGR, but not its halo and everything. kinda relaxing when you're playing Xbox Arcade actually.

But EA couldnt really screw Rockstar up I think, they have their own way of doing things and even EA would know not to bother with their formulas. EA rather makes GTA clones with cheaper compagnies. Pus Buying Rockstar isnt smart with all the legal cases around that compagny, could cost them lots of money..

On a more interesting note, just read that MS is planning to get GTA4 console exclusive for X360.. though Sony had those rights for PS2 games I dont think it will go for this generation so there might actually start a GTA right war (well PC will get it anyway)

I drop in now and then, just don't post normally because, if i drop by once a week, there are about 12 pages of unread threads on games i care very little about. So... i skim through to read the ones i do care about and by this point i have lost all feeling in my fingers and find myself unable to post.

I doubt EA would be interested in purchasing such classics as Manhunt, Warriors and the GTA series as it would wreck their games for the younger (upto around 16-17 year olds) market.

Don't believe me, take a look at their frontpage

http://www.electronicarts.co.uk/

If you squint you can see all the games, including the shoot em' ups are aged from 3+ to 16+. 18+ games are not EA's style.

Tratos: The Godfather must be the exception that proves the rule...

But yeah, EA doesn't like 18+...they do sell well to kids, tho, by pumping out their yearly updates.

If EA took over I think that GTA series would be hit quite hard because of numerous reasons. EA are one of, if not -THE- biggest gaming company out there and wouldn't like to be associated with gangs, violence and prostitution at a high level. I strongly believe that they would bring it down a few pegs.

I doubt a takeover would happen but I guess anything can happen these days.
