i posted the below screenshot to make sure ppl saw what the prob is. how do u rectify this? ive tried a few variations of the eagle's names but no luck:(

You have to add those strings into lotr.str. You can nab that file out of one of the patch .big files.

ah ok. im not sure what you're abrieviated terms mean. what are they and how do i go about adding them etc?

1. get the lotr.str file from englishpatch1.02 or something and copy it to yourmod\data\
2. open it with a text editor (e.g notepad or ColorINI)
3. add this at the end

CONTROLBAR:ConstructGiantEagle
"Giant Eagle"
END

CONTROLBAR:TooltipBuildGiantEagle
"Summon a Giant Eagle"
END

i have the 101 patch file which can be opened in final big but theres not one for 1.02 even though the patch is installed.

or try english.big then, extract lotr.str out of it to your desktop. then add

CONTROLBAR:ConstructGiantEagle
"Giant Eagle"
END

CONTROLBAR:TooltipBuildGiantEagle
"Summon a Giant Eagle"
END

as 2playgames said. then copy the file of your desktop into YOUR .big file and when it asks you what you wana call the file ur inserting into your .big call it data\lotr.str

i dont even have that file. ive got 1.02 installed. where the hell is the stupid thing.

im your main bfme 2 directory. where INI is. there should be lots of other inis. English.big will be there.

nup not there. thats so weird. i got the right patch, the game is 1.02 but theres no english file in there at all.

BfME2 Folder -> lang -> English -> LOTR.str
