Anyone here listen to it?

Stuff like Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, Symphony X?

Progressive metal (often shortened to prog, or prog metal when differentiating from progressive rock) is a genre of heavy metal music which shares traits with progressive rock including use of complex compositional structures, odd time signatures, and intricate instrumental playing. The high level of musical proficiency is often combined with a lyrical counterpart in the form of epic textual concepts, resulting in lengthy songs and concept albums. As a result of these factors, progressive metal is rarely heard on mainstream radio and video programs. (^Stolen from Wikipedia^)

Well, I listen to a little Pink Floyd here and there. Another Brick In The Wall is quite commonly on the radio actually, but then that song's a bit pap, IMO.

Any other examples of bands fall into here?

Procul Harem is an good example of 70s progressive rock
Alan Parsons Project for the 80s is an good example next to what Hrod allready named
The 90s/00s Tool, A Perfect Circle, Muse probably, Radiohead.

All those bands really play with their instrumets to make it an art.
