Sorry about the topic title, didnt really know what to call it <_<

But anyway, say I had plans to add a new side to Generals. Would it be a better idea to script each unit as they are coded or script the whole lot into .scb in one go after everything is coded?

This may seem a bit insignificant, but I just wanted to have an answer from the point of view of someone more experienced.

It would certainly be useful if you can have the luxury of waiting till you have everything coded. However, if you do not, I recommend that you simply implement the units on a click-and-attack basis - nothing too intelligent or too specified in case you want to change the units later on.

I generally try to find the balance between making the AI fairly hard, and not getting too specified with the units.

If you have no idea how to add a new side, a tut about that is coming up soon... which you can see in the staff forum since you are a Project Team member :ermm:

Ok thanks... Im kinda in the planning stages of a TC so I wanted to have a basic idea of what the work process should involve. I guess it makes sense to work on AI at the end in case you decide to change your mind about things...

Heh, being an inactive project team member has its benefits ( should i be saying that? :ermm: Please dont demote me detail... )

Of course it all depends on the situation. If you have a large, productive team then it'll probably be good to do alpha AI's, just simple ones that deal with the "Easy" difficulty. If you've got the luxury of waiting, however, you'll have less of a headache later on..
