Re: MCV or Dozer?

I'd keep your hopes very high for this return of the MCV (hint hint) :o)

apoc hath spoken

he also pointed out the nod and GDI logos won't be changed and that they are considering a sidebar system, elsewhere...

I'm glad to hear the MVC is back. I hated guarding dozers. Dozers are more realistic and useful because the are cheap and can be sent to your allies base quickly. But a burden moreso than not.

mirco-management in generals is shoddy cos of pathfinding issues when its meets omg hills or has to turn ...

mcv rocks and so does repair button/sell button of uber doom.

also maybe add an upgrade bar lolz

MCV gave you something to win with, with dozers in online play they took ages to end.

In my opinion, MCV>>>> dozer. With the dozer, you had to only make a few, then send them on their way. As long as dozers were there, you weren't dead. With the MCV, you need to prioritize your defenses on protecting it at all costs. With dozers, that just made CnC into a base crawling nightmare. I saw a dude who literally migrated his entire base across a map, because you can build dozers. He built then sold his way from the left side of the map to the right, and still pwned the guy he was up against. Also, with MCV's, you can build only one building/defense at a time, greatly reducing the speed at which you can expand your base.

I said it before and i'll say it again, Generals had nothing to do with the Tiberian Series. Let's hope that the EA guys don't screw up the game. They know that we (the gamers, and therefore the people they depend on to have money  ) are used to the good ol' MCV and i think they should stick with that system. Also, if they blow it with a weird Generals Tiberian Mix, which i personally think would be a big failure, it would be the biggest humilliation to EA.... Let's hope not to see a Dozer in CNC 3

it's not mark skaggs who's in charge anymore, they've got louis castle on the job so I'm hoping for some good stuff, I'm actually liking what I'm seeing and hearing so far tbh. :p
that Apoc guy is nice too, he's on the EA forums reading alot of the stuff and says he's passing the big demands to the dev team (ie: MCV, sidebar, Kucan as kane, klepacki for music...), I've got a good vibe for now.

just hope I won't have to steal a NASA supercomputer to play it :p

They need to bring back the ability to sell units too. You used to be able to sell unwanted or heavilly damaged units on the repair pads.

MCV ftw!

I do hope EA is considering to make this game like a real CnC.. Only wished they'd bring back the old CnC font instead of that ugly Gen font..

In my opinion it should be a command centre and dozers.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I hated the fact that u could only build one building at a time maybe they'll make it so u can build more than one building at a time cuz i found it hard to make a base when i'm limited to building one thing at a time i get screwed over almost all of the time although the mcv is cool but with dozers i can build a base fast.

But when building one at a time, it makes you prioritize buildings based on your strategy. If you are a tank rusher, you wil build a War Factory and start cranking out units. But, if you're a turtler, like I am, then you would build defenses and radar before unit production. With a dozer system, you just turn it into "who can build stuff faster", with the MCV, more strategy is involved.

Aren't structures in RA2/YR divided to 'Buildings' and 'Armory'? (reference to your radar being a unit structure).

Anyway, hope they will bring the goddamn MCV back. Dozers were fine with all that building all structures at the same time, but it's SC style, not C&C one. I'd rather say Generals should belong to StarCraft storyline or saga, or something - JUST NOT C&C! :p
