Humm..

Do you know how to work with Photoshop?

I could explain how to unwrap models and paint the UVW's if you know how to use some of PS' features..

Well that would be your first step. Learning the ins and outs of photoshop is really a necessity. Beyond that I would read up on some UVW unwrapping tutorials around the net, and I highly suggest picking up a copy of 3D Studio Max 8 as the UVW tools built into it are downright amazing, the program almost does the unwrap for you. When I get some free time I may even write a tutorial for unwrapping using max 8

Are there any major changes in 8 from 7? I haven't used 8 much for more than basic mapping, and I can't think how you could improve it majorly from 7 for low-poly stuff.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Well all I can say is figure it out. Get a random picture and try out brushes on it. Browse through the brushes available, check out some of the filtering possibilities..

Your first skins will always look really bad, I'm sure any skinner here would tell you that (except Nertea ;) ), just keep practicing and you should improve
