Tell them you have an overwhelming elevator fetish. You like pressing all the right buttons.

Tried it :p
Got a lot of stares, and a few people collapsed laughing. The lecturer was not among them :p

I had a neat little system when I was in school. We had this little student book that we had to have with us at all times, the school rules were written in it, there was a section where teachers could write to your parents and a section where you could write escuse notes for not being in school (medical and such.
I'd just write up my own escuses or get someone else to do it. the sweet thing was you took this note to the guards (dunno what the name is in english, they keep an eye on the kids at breaktime and such), they read the note and if they accept it (they usually didn't give a crap) they took it out of your book and signed the stub that it was attached to so you could show the teachers. you didn't have to tell them anything else.

favourite escuses were medical appointments and dioreah IIRC :p

aaaah school, how glad I am never to see you again :p

Not that anyone bothers if you skip school over here, all you have to do is not break the 50% of all hours mark so you can actually pass the class. Of course its not necesarilly good to border on the 50% threshold (i should know..), but that's another thing ;)

Depends on the college really. In the US, attendance is a big issue if you go to an Ivy League school, but otherwise a lot of them really don't care. It's your money anyways.

As long as you get the grades and know the material. I took a first year level Biology course this year, but even if I get a 5 on my AP exam, they'll force me to take it again in college. I could probably teach that class, I'll most likely show up for the minimum required days.

Most of your schools and subjects must be boring, if you want to stay away often.

I'd say you go to school to learn something. If you can get a high grade with less lessons (and aren't interested that much in the course), you shouldn't "have" to go in my opinion, but if you don't, then it'd be for the best to go.

I don't think our secondary schools even allow if you skip some lessons (mine doesn't afaik anyway). They'll probably phone your parents or something.

Open campus only comes in the final year at my school. That I find ridiculous.

Tell me about it :)

A quick summary of the education system over here: you don't have to actually be able to understand what is going on on the lessons, but you do have to remember the *entire* book they have you buying most of the time. Comprehension of things hardly helps. Maths being a slight exception.
