My opinion is that an invasion should be commenced for reasons quite clost to if not exactly what Pyth said. Genocidal leaders (I.e. Hitler, Stalin, Hussein) have to be stopped. It is wrong not to stop that. That's why we're in Iraq. If the country is invading you, you have no choice but to defend yourself and your people. That's why we were in WWII. If two sides are fighting, one for the above reasons and the other out of the reasons why to retaliate, a more powerful side should intercede for the side with the correct grounds (anti-genocide, invaded, etc.).

That is my opinion.
Into the fires of Orodruin,
The One must be cast
This is the price that must be paid,
Only thus its power will be undone
Only thus, a great evil, unmade

There is no other choice.
There is no other way.
One of you must take it,
One of you must pay.

Mi naurath Orodruin
Boe hedi i vin
Han i vengad i moe ben bango
Sin eriol natha tur in ugarnen
Sin eriol um beleg ugannen

U cilith 'war.
U men 'war.
Boe min mebi,
Boe min bango.

1. Nobody outside of Germany knew of the Holocaust until early 1945, and even then, many were quick to call it a "rumor", or a "misunderstanding" in the Allied armed forces. The Soviets, however, slaughtered millions more on top of the corpses, "for the motherland".

2. We invaded Iraq because of a clever ruse designed to fool the American public into believing the war was justified. Three years ago, we were all told Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. We were presented with the "incontrovertible proof" of smoke and mirrors, cloudy, ambiguous pictures of trucks, and diagrams drawn up in DoD staging rooms ten minutes before a presentation. We were swindled by the best of them, the United States government. Powell even realized this, and recollecting his morals he no doubt conspicuously forgot at the office every single public appearance between October 2002 and June 2003, he resigned.

3. The United States of America was never invaded by Iraq. No nation, with the notable exceptions of Iran in 1983, and the Kingdom of Kuwait in 1991, was ever invaded by Iraq under Saddam Hussein. If you try to play this as self-defense, think again. We invaded. For the first time in years we have given into our ambitions and invaded another country... and we will all pay for it dearly.

I say he only reason to go to war is if you are attacked or know for sure you are about to be and launch a strike against the enemy before they can fully prepare for an invasion of your nation. If a nation is in the hands of a genocial leader, thats their problem and i dont htink its worth fighting and dying for.

Well wouldn't that be nice in a perfect world? In the real world, nobody attacks overtly anymore.
The days of Realpolitik and great, total wars are over.
