So I'm doing something on my main computer, when - lo and behold - the other one (the one connected to mine) suddenly lost connection. It looked almost as if the cable was dead. Except for the fact that when I turned off the terminal computer, my server showed it can connect to it. But if I as much turned it on it already showed me there is no connection. Then when I turned it off again it was dead anyhow. I updated my network card drivers - nothing. I turned off my agnitum outpost firewall - nothing. I tried using system restore - it said "fuck you" because it couldn't restore my windows for some reason. Windows event log shows this whenever I restarted:
10005: DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service upnphost with arguments "" in order to run the server: {204810B9-73B2-11D4-BF42-00B0D0118B56}
Checked my services. upnphost is turned off. Tried turning it on, the errors in the event log stopped showing. Still no connection though. This showed up as well:
4202: The system detected that network adapter \DEVICE\TCPIP_{5D2CEB66-E70E-4D16-AB3C-04D1E48D0C56} was disconnected from the network, and the adapter's network configuration has been released. If the network adapter was not disconnected, this may indicate that it has malfunctioned. Please contact your vendor for updated drivers.
Any idea what's going on? This just sorta happened on me out of nowhere. I didn't even install beforehand and so.
