Each time I open firefox I get:
ALERT:
Could not initialize the browser's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your browsers directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disc is not full or close to full. It is recomended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features.
Can't find any notably bad files, but not particually sure what to look for, or even where. Also, and I'm assuming related, it denies that SSL is enabled.
Any help?

Reinstall?

Try deleting your Mozilla Firefox directory and THEN reinstalling. Failing that, uninstall and then do a regclean to remove any reg entries for FF...

Tried that, too. Just given up now. Wiped it from the comp (again) and switched to Opera. Which hasn't messed up my comp. Yet...

Just try every browser you've heard of and stick with the best. I got 4 browsers installed out of necessity (webdesign) so..

I use firefox because of adblock plus, and tabs. Tabs are now available on most browsers, so that doesn't matter much anymore. Adblock Plus lets you define custom blocklists so you never have to see the ads again. If you see an ad, just put it (preferably with a wildcard blocking all ads from that provider) on the blocklist.

Well, t hat and because of the tabbed browsing thing, and the ability to customize the layout of the toolbars, and all of the fun extensions, and the pretty icon, and...

I use Firefox because its open source. So I know for a fact that there aren't any backdoors or any bullshit like that. It's not the fastest (by default at least), but its definately my choice.

I use it for extensions. I do a lot of PHP crap, so the Web Developer toolbar is great for forms and whatnot. Couldn't live without my Googlebar. I also have MeasureIt, ServerSpy, and cache status. Add N Edit Cookies, and others.

I use it for three reasons:
Foxytunes is awesome
AdBlock Plus is awesome
I just generally like it excluding the initial load time - which is still less time than it takes for MSN Messenger to stop fucking me around on sign in so I have no problems.
