Firing arcs don't have anything to do with that from what I thought.

You could possibly do it by messing with the AcceptableAimDelta within the weapon code so that the archer doesn't necessarily need to be looking right at his target in order to fire on it. This may look weird but it would probably look better than having the infantry guy break his spine everytime he wants to shoot someone behind him.

Firing arcs most certainly do. You not only set the starting angle, you can set the actual limit of the arc to limit the range of firing. This means you can have a battle wagon with an archer on the side that can only fire from the side at targets on the side of the wagon.

NaturalTurretAngle = 0	; Natural angle of the turret relative to the front of the object
TurretMaxDeflectionCW = 90; Maximum deflection of the turrect clockwise from the natural turret angle
TurretMaxDeflectionACW = 90; Maximum deflection of the turrect anti-clockwise from the natural turret angle

My fault, I was thinking of Bezier Paths for projectiles. Without actually testing that, I would say I'm fairly confident that it would work. Nice find Hostile....and get on MSN you SOB, haven't talked to you in a month.

Oh my goddness... I ask a simple question and make a discussion thread... This question wasn't for me, it is on VAL's behalf, so its our animators problem to get the anims working. Now I have to learn turret logic...

i still think no matter how good the animation, itd look a little tacky ingame, since the torso would probably rotate independantly of the hips/legs.

The only cool enough use i can think of is a "shield border" power for legolas...

It won't so much rotate independently as much as it will cause the mesh to stretch considerably in the waist area.

Yeah, I know this is an old topic but my question directly relates to it so...

Ok, I got my rohirrim archers to fire when moving but it only works when they are an individual unit. When they're in a horde, it doesn't work properly. I've tried to add/remove the turret in HordeAIUpdate and also tried different things in the horde attack nugget. They just don't seem to fire correctly. So does anyone have any clue of how to make it work in a horde? I have tried everything I can think of.

Well, the best I can get is that all the units in the horde will attack but they shoot straight at the ground and they play no animations. I've also gotten it where they just won't shoot at all while moving. I'm beginning to wonder if the turret logic was ever designed to be used in a horde or not.

Thanks. Yeah, I've searched all over the forums but haven't found anything yet to my problem.
