Wow, wow...wow, easy guys, easy.

I'll do it myself than after your mod is released, but don't use that 'it's illegal' crap on me. You're making a mod for a Star Wars game engine that you do not own and are basing it of an intellectual property (Warhammer 40k) that isn't yours, both those are illegal in the strictest sense of the word.

Don't get me wrong here, your work looks absolutely marvelous, I can't wait to play this mod. But it's not an abomination to want to play Warhammer 40k units on Star Wars themed maps you know. It doesn't even have to invlove Rancors and Jawas, just using Felucia or Saleucami for example are nice exotic landscapes that aren't incompatible with the Warhammer 40k universe. I mean, if you really plan to make the planets like they are depicted in the novels and such, it will leave you with nothing but ruined cities as a map style.

But like I said, I'll convert them myself afterwards, you just keep churning out those beautiful models :D

Are you some kind of an idiot?

Oh, oh, and what other sort of planets are there tha in the WH40k universe? Even if there are a few terrestial climates, I doubt you'll find some truly alien and exotic planets.

And I'd be a bit more careful using the term idiot on me, I'm sure I can find some derogatory expletives on you as well.

Just because I made a suggestion you don't like doesn't mean you have to be rude.

yes, lets all be nice to each other....

There's plenty of wierd exotic stuff in the 40k univese...

A planet being consumed by tyranids (massive mutant things consuming the planet, nids everywhere, pools of toxic slime, all sorts of wierd stuff)

Catchan (jungle deathworld, huge vicious plants that kill people.. sarlaac anyone?, in fact.. there's a whole range of hostile plants... from ones that attack people and eat them... to exploding ones... to ones that take over the persons mind...)

How about a Chaos planet... (ground that has mouths, skies that rain blood, trees that scream and try to kill you, mountains that spontaniously spawn eyes and start watching you insidiously, wierd chaos spawn, huge pits of boiling blood... wierd effigies, piles of burning corpses etc)

Necron planet? Huge ancient monoliths and pyramids buried in desert

There's lots of different worlds we can create... hell, we don't have to stick too closely to the fluff... it's the whole galaxy.. there's millions of worlds. We can make them up! :p

besides... modding isnt illegal, and making a 40k TC is as legal as cheesecake, if you stick to their rules.

Well played the FoC campaign. My thoughts on the pirate faction compleetly LAME.

I mean it is a combination of cheap units with cheesy side missions for takeing over the galaxy. These missions make it hard press to start out as certian missions require certian units and less than 1/4 of them are tactical battles. So getting the credits, tech, and controling systems is a real hard at the start. However once you got them you got infantryman that can take on AT-AT and the super ECLIPS class star destroyer. Oh yeah too much dependence of defilers (minor heros)

The story is well, I didn't like it that much. Besides the fact it didn't really have an ending but I think it had some made up characters with it. Should have stuck with the books a little better but hey if Geroge Lucas OKs it well then it is an official star wars character.

Well my thoughts on the game. If the coruption system is used there needs to be a way to streamline it (excuse my adjitives). Also other races should have some sort of "coruption" style mission.

Star Wars games do not by any means have a good record... EAW is a serious rarity (being good), and it's not a patch on kOTOR

Just don't expect to ever be blown away by a Star Wars game :p

nope very few star wars games are good, and EAW isn't even that good. If you don't get a mod then the land battles just completely suck, the space is what saves it and that isn't great either. In short EAW is like most star wars games, good but with the potential for greatness that they can't seem t get.

lol yes, very well said :thumbsupsmiley:

There's that really old fps game, Jedi Knight which was pretty good, but KOTOR is by far the best Star Wars game I've played :p I Think Homeworld and Homeworld 2 have better space battles, much more realistic at least, but EAW has a lot of potential, and the engine isn't half bad... the space battles can get pretty immense.

It should have been a Warhammer 40,000 game instead of a starwars game.

What about Battle Fleet Gothic?
That's classed as a 40K game.

They use BFG in conjunction with normal 40K for the large campains they have(eg: Eye of Terror).
