You got a fatal AI error? In which line? Maybe patch 1.5 did change more than I thought.

Since 1.8 seems to cause some problems, I'll try to make some changes. Therefore it would be very helpfull if the people with problems try a test run as soon as I upload the changes. I'll try to address the 1.8 army balancing and the performance problems. It's only a theory, but the performance problems might also be responsible for the crashes on some machines.

I forgot to make a screenshot, my bad.. If this happens again I'll be sure to check, I believe the description of the error is all in the console, right?

And, yea I can test as soon as you upload.

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

Well the game runs at no less than 60fps in very large battles so... (no fighting had even began when it crashed.)

BTW Thudo...

60fps in large battles! WoW! That'll be my next system once Intel's Conroe officially is out. Still.. thats the only entry in AI_Log.txt ya get? Ouch? Bizzare..

Can u copy the \AI folder in dowai_mod\data and copy it to your <installed DoW folder>\wxp\data ? Now run the game just the normal way and play a game. Does it still crash? Copying anything to <installed DoW folder>\wxp\data will always override WA's defaults. So remember to remove it from there to ensure you have compatibility with others.

QUOTE(AI_Log.txt)

If that was really the content of AI_Log.txt after the crash, the game aborted in this method:

function CpuManager:UpdateManagers()

profile_start("UpdateManagers")
build_manager:Update()
resource_manager:Update()
military_manager:Update()
profile_end("UpdateManagers")
end

All of those functions are Relic core routines and we can't do anything about them. This part didn't change in 1.8. Therefore it would mean that Relic messed the routines up in the 1.5 patch.

Not too suprising. About relic being silly, I mean. I'll test out thudo's next method when I get back to my comp.

Tomorrow when I have time I am going to completely uninstall DoW/WA and reinstall and update it and then add 1.8 and see what happens. still getting the performance problems.
