My suggestion is rather simple.

Don't use the same skin for every unit you make.

hmm yea good point. Ill try and edit them abit, and add some random textures. But i want to try and keep them abit the same, as they would of worn simuler to show they were from dale. Abit like the diferent rohan hordes, they were given diferent the same armor (if the same rank).

The normal Rohan Rohirrim wore many different kinds of armor, only the Royal Guard had a specific uniform. Haradrim too wore many different kind of clothing, but still in the same style and fashion. You should do the same for the men of Dale.

I personally dont see the problem there. There will be another type of unit in there too, with a diferent design: The Merchant.

Plus the master of laketown.

Well, I consider variety and a certain difference in armour a good thing. If you don't see the problem, you're either lazy or incompetent. The first can't be helped, the 2nd can. That's why you're here.

Rhiea's constructive insults here.

Anywhoos it looks real cool but there are some minor edits that I think should be taken knoticed.

A) Brad's hair is too long, thats if you are following deciphers photo

B) Hate to say this, but Matias is right, there should be a more diverse amount of textures and skins for each unit, makes the game more lively and fun to watch instead of a horde of clones.

C) Make the Men of Dale more....more...umm...unique! yea! UNIQUE! All I feel like I am looking at is a bunch of yeomen. What I did with my men of dale was using the photo of Brad I basicly just imagined the whole design, including some of John Howe's drawings making these Men of Dale, more unique and easy to pick out.

D) Good work :3 I likey

Can we please stop this pathetic bickering? I already apologized in the past, and asked to stop our feuds in your Castellan topic.

Well I dont see a problem. You calling me incompetent?

Just because we dont have the time to do 20 different models/skins for every unit, doesnt mean it wont be fun to play. Maybe therell be time for some more, but people do have other things to do.

Well either that or lazy. Incompetence can be helped.

Just because we dont have the time to do 20 different models/skins for every unit, doesnt mean it wont be fun to play.

What do you mean ''time''? Is there someone who forces you to finish your mod in a certain period of time?

but people do have other things to do.

You need to take your time to bring quality work. Rushing doesn't work in any field, especially modding. If people are busy with other things, the mod will go slower. That's all. Mods take time, and people have lives. If people have other things to do before the mod is finished, you can pause the mod. You must not rush.

doesnt mean it wont be fun to play.

The reason I suggest variety in armour and skins is because that does greatly increase a player's fun. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay, but detail is something that's at least as important as that.

I'm glad you decided to work on some variety in your Dale skins Tom. That kind of things make mods stand out from the crowd. Very good.

That is soo true :)

played RTW anyone? There, ALL units in the same horde has the same texture..... It's okay with some troops in BFME, like the Gondorians, because, you can't really see their faces...in RTW though, you can zoom in very much, and that way, it looks stupid.... great game though

Well, it depends more on the size of the texture and the poly count of the model.

i dont see the point in a star was mod, but im sure others do.

i enjoy modding, and id love to see dale ingame, which if others want to play what i create, then they have the choice to.

it will also help AoA & woa, so there is a proper point which you may understand ;).
