Guess what..
They don't have rights to Tolkien work outside of the The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Wrong. They bought the rights to do whatever the hell they like with it soon after the release of BfME I. That's why we have the travesty that is BfME 2 and it's expansion

Anyway, as far as I know EA only has rights to LOTR, but they have "creative rights" or something like that. That means they can be creative and add their own ideas alongside stuff from the books (hence scorpions, spider riders etc)

No, they have full rights to all of Tolkein's material.

Mission Erebor
Map = "MAP EVIL Erebor"
IntroMovie = Evil_Erebor_Intro
LoadScreenImage = CampaignEvil_Erebor_LoadScreen
LoadScreenMusicTrack = SX-EvilExplore1
MillisecondsAfterStartToStartFadeUp = 2000
; List CarryoverUnits which we don't want to appear at the beginning of the map automatically
; These units don't spawn right away; save them until the scripts ask for them
DelayCarryoverSpawningOf = EvilMenBlackRider
DelayCarryoverSpawningOf = MordorMouthOfSauron
DelayCarryoverSpawningOf = WildShelob
; These units don't appear in this map as all; we're using this to hide their existence until later missions
DelayCarryoverSpawningOf = WildGoblinKing
DelayCarryoverSpawningOf = Drogoth ;; CHANGE REQUESTED BY LICENCE HOLDERS: NO DRAGONS AT LONELY MOUNTAIN (too much like that Tolkien book we can't mention and don't have rights to)
End
That's located in linearcampaign.ini. Look at the second last line and tell me if you think they have rights to all his work

I could have sworn they did. Perhaps they just have everything *other* than that one book.

Ah well we're arguing pointlessly now lets just change the subject.
Who IS actually gonna be getting the expansion? and since its a modding site, who here is gonna be modding it?
Dmain | I-Cold | earthWhois
Dmain Now offers .mobi extensions....why? Because we can
Update: EAW Galaxy is almost ready for launch. We're currently in need of forum staff and content writers for the main site. Please PM or Email me ASAP.
BFME Fans if you think you have what it takes, bfmeworld.com would love to be built. I have neither the time, nor the motivation any longer...

And if there's nothing new that can be used, why not mod only for non-expansion so that more people can play your mod?
Not that I'm buying it anyways .

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Tolkien lovers can bash EA for not respecting his work
Modders can delect themselves and watch out for the evolution of the engine (for I'm sure there will be tidbits related to CnC3)
and all can rejoice as this will bring life to a slowy dying T3A
and so, I raise my glass and propose a toast to EA !
