I just saw on BBC1 the army stock footage of precision bombing on a moving vehicle during the isreal lebanon conflict. I myself am chilled to the bone about the idea of footage of someone dying being shown on TV, especially the nations freee station. Although i did not see the person die you saw the actual act of his death taking place. What is your opinion of this.

You didn't watch the live CNN footage of Baghdad in 1991 or 2003, I assume?
Nothing new there... you see people shot and shot at on documentaries and the like too... it's certainly nothing new.

I remember I saw a National Geographic film that showed President Kennedy's assassination. It wasn't pretty (his head was damn near blown off...maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was bad). I didn't look away or anything, though, and neither did most of the people in my class who also saw it (lots of gasps of digust though). I guess with all the images of death you see in the media nowadays, you get used to seeing that kind of thing. Hell, my newspaper had pictures of bloody corpses in it once, where my little sisters could easily open it and look at it. Seeing the vehicle be destroyed, without seeing anybodys actual death, seems to be nothing.

I remember whatching real footage from the battle of the soume, it brings you back to the reality that these people our forefathers literally gave there lives for us. imagine, would you do it, charge down no mans land with machine guns spraying lead at you....
I mean I saw one poor lad only about 18, when they called them to go over the top, the lad when he got up fell back down with having been shoot in the head...one second later another went down it was horrific....
if you thought seeing what you saw there was bad you should see live footage from D-day.....horrible....
