I'm having difficulties getting rid of a mod exe that I just got. Unfortunately, the file had no information for some reason I don't, so I tried to delete it. Then a little pop up saying " Cannot delete, Is being used by another program. Close any programs using this file." ;) But I didn't have anything running. :p What should I do to get rid of the file?

There's a program called dellater.exe, though it's for your own risk to use. Search for it on Google.

Um, I don't get how to use it. Do you rename it to the file that you want deleted? Or what?

You run it in a command prompt window and type dellater.exe name_of_file.extension
You should place dellater.exe in the same directory to use that syntaxis.

Then restart your pc and dellater.exe will remove the file.

Oh ok. Thank you.

Edit: It won't let me run it in a command prompt window. :(

I hope you use windows........

if your system starts booting then press F8 (just keep pressing it after the bios screen is gone.)

then see if you can boot in safe mode and then you might be able to remove the file. If not then reboot and then press F8 again and then see if you can boot into MS-DOS mode. then you can get to the file using dos commands like cd and cd.. and dir.
if you find the file then you should be able to delete it.

Mabey I didn't use the right command to run dellater in command prompt window. Can someone tell me the correct command or w/e?

Edit: I found another program to remove it which you just drag and drop the file into the window and when You restart poof. :) Thanks for everyone's help

Actually, safe mode does not always help.

If you use Spybot Search and Destroy (if not, why not?...go to www.safer-networking.org ), it comes with a Secure Shredder in the tools tab. Just clickdrag and then wipe the fucker off the hd :p

EDIT: Tho it seems you've solved the prob...this advice can be there for anyone else who has same probs :)
