AI To Be Included With Initial Release! 10/08/06

Yes, that's right! AI will be included for ALL new material for the initial release. This means that the computer will be able to use the Elven faction and all the new heroes added to the original four factions. For those of you who are not completely familiar with Battle for Middle-Earth mods, this is a rather big thing: very few mods include AI. The AI for all the new heroes for the original faction has been completed and is working great (Frodo and Sam are so adorable when they follow each other around everwhere) and I'm in the final stages of setting down the basic structure of the Elven faction AI. I'm really excited about this, and I hope you all will be too!

As a side note, Glorfindel's abilities have been added to the Heroes page.

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

Cool, AI :p ! Though I'm not sure I may ever have the opportunity to test the Elven AI...I don't like killing Elves  .

Does this mean that you're going to take out the Elven Warriors for Rohan and add in the Rangers of the North ;) ? And what about Royal Guards? I thought you said you were going to put those in when you did the AI?

yes he has said that he will be adding some rangers to rohan. if they are the same as gondor's i dont know. at the bottom of this you can see it. also as it says they will not be in the initial release. but he said that about the AI so it could be there.

Edit: also on that page shows that the royal guard will only be able to be summoned by Hama. but it might change.

;)

I forgot about that... Though I don't like the idea of Rangers for Rohan... I just thought of them because they would be a good replacement unit-wise for the Elves. Maybe with the AI, I'll put the Royal Guards in to replace the Elves...

Yes, that has changed. Theoden can also summon them.

Why not both ;) ? If they're to replace the Elven Warriors, they'd probably have to be weapon-toggle infantry ;) . Why not have the mounted Royal Guards remain as summon-only, and have Royal Guards on foot buildable :p ?

celeglin never said that he is having the witch king dissmount. so you wont be able to kill the with him on the ground. and he cant dissmount unless you mod, unless you are talking about the 2nd one.
