If the Scrambler seems too unbalanced, it could be made to have to fly directly over its target and fire the "drain" style beam. This would definately nerf it a lot since it would have a hard time hitting units unless they are standing still or very slow.. The Scrambler is pretty weak though, so I don't really think it's too powerful. Besides, a group of Scramblers will often try to attack the same unit, wasting their usefulness. If any changes are to be made to it, the CellSpread should be removed. Unless I imagined it, it seems to have a small CellSpread on its weapon.

It does.
Nice idea. I hope Apollo implements it.

Personally I think the Scrambler Disc should be used as a drainer only, i.e. tons of armour, used primarily as a distraction, or something like this. Nexus airforce seems a little too much if you know what I mean as Zephyrs can pretty much mince anything with their armour-happy-regeneration which means they can absorb everything. Combine this with Scrambler Discs and well, you have a horrible mess up your sleeve.

But the thing is with this is that the Scrambler was hardly made by any Nexus players. I'd say the vertical chaos beam kind of balances it out.

I suppose my distaste for this weapon precludes its use.
Chaos stuff was never truly to my liking. Then again, it took me a while to figure out that emp could save your base. It's probably useful in that regard.
Vertical beam will under power it. Slower rate of fire may balance it out. That or change it back to drain disc.

vertical beam would make it like a kirov ...

zephyrs are still rape by gunships and probably the 2.0 condor

the scrambler is not chaos but interference with computer systems hence the blue color effect

it cannot shoot at air targets

drain is utterly useless especially against humans, selling nullifies any effect of drain

it was the 2nd most underused unit next to shredders

the rate of fire on the unit is pretty slow as well

also human players, u have helis ....

RS is all about using all the units not just one unit rape like 1.98 :)

You couldnt sell a building while it was being drained.. and unit raping still works.

NEXUS AI escorts their scrambler discs with zephyrs. Zephyrs own the helis.
The hacking is effectively chaos. So that's what I call it.
Underutilised is probably true.

one unit raping is harder in comparison with 1.98, the ripper rush is a forgotten memory, and last timed I player yr with you bolt and was draining your power you simply sold it, besides the improved AA defences made short work of it and even if u can't sell whilst draining, it has no way to defend itself from AA and its so slow you would sell quite easily.

i remember a disk rush i had with apollo ages ago in 1.98 where we essentially nerfed each other that no one won numerous bugs in 1.98 included range bonuses from height with lasers and infinite money wiv the machine plant ...

also try using other units like aa support, and other units, its like people are moaning cos they can no longer just use nexus centurion, decimator, devastator rushs...

I know its underutilised the drain disk no one used when I extensively played 1.98 and 1.99 tests.

Ripper rush is probably still possible if you make enough and cram them full of Eradicators and Executioners...trouble is they've only got about 1HP

its just far too expensive, maybe on a small map with a n00b player and bombers make short work of whole groups of em

Zephyrs, Centurions, Rippers with infantry and Advanced robot tanks "combined" makes short work of kirovs, a good FL player also always mix his units though ^_^
If people were more constructive with their comments, then this place would be more enjoyable
