Okay... I originally planned to make 2.0 release as the real full deal but given gfx work involved it could be long wait to get done so vote what you prefer of the options in poll.

I simply want some single player missions which are all about the war between human and robot....

Pwnt :shiftee:

I think that a beta release should happen, for the following reasons:

1) I want to actually get the manual up to scratch
2) Balance issues can be better discussed if more people have it available to them.
3) It allows the bugs to be better worked out...similar to point 2.
4) It lets people see the awesome work that has already been done :p

However, after this there should be no more publics until the final 2.0 :p

I couldn't make a decent map, voxel, shp, or animation for my life. :p I might be able to do coding though. If I got a tutorial, I might be able to code the missions.

Looking forward to 2.0. Release it when it's done, not because people are pressuring you to release.

I'd rather see a full version rather than betas, especially if its a big download. But I guess the main argument would be simply the volume of bugs that could be uncovered with more people testing it.
Either way, I'd be willing to help any way I can, but from what I've seen you don't need it (Editing manual, perhaps? Portfolio:p)

Bear in mind that the manual I have is much more up to date than the manual you have. :p

I was somewhat serious about this. I just can't make decent maps, otherwise I'd jump on it. I am fairly sure I could code the missions. I'd just need to learn how to do it and have a mission storyline. And the maps. Would you, Apollo, make a NEXUS campaign if you did make campaigns?

Only asking because three campaigns requires the rock patch.

Does anybody know where I can find a place with a mission scriptor tutorial?

I think the FA2 tutorials house some of the best you're going to get. Otherwise, you might try YR Arg or the RA2/YR Editing forums.

Alternately, download someone's mission and have a look-see how they did it. I'm not condoning going in and changing stuff, just taking a look at how it was done. If you're really serious (and I don't mean just a passing fad, like most stuff I do  ), you could always try finding who made the maps and pming them for help...but only if you're really serious. If not, don't waste your time or theirs

Thanks, I'll take a look.

EDIT: I intend to figure everything out myself if I can. I'll look through the original campaigns and identify things that can be done. Do you know if someone has the campaigns or knows how to extract them? That would help.

With what program do you make maps with? Is it included in the game? Cause I couldn't find it lol sorry very very n00b person here. I used to map a lot of maps on Starcraft and AOEII so maybe I could give it a try for YR. And if I aint too n00b I might even help :)

So yeah....

Google "Final Alert". And "Notepad" is also good. One of the many differences between the two is that one has different versions for RA2 and RA2:YR, so watch out :)

You create maps in notepad?! You've got to be joking.. That is just insane.

Edit: Oh, and I'd better refrain from doing any map making for the RS campaings, as the 1337ness of my maps would put all others to shame and then it would just look out of place ^_^
