English Literature = A
General Studies = A
History = B
Chemistry = C
Biology = D

Those are only AS though.

Sets me well on the way to Queen Mary, UCL, or Edinburgh though.

We never got to do five. Tho General Studies doesn't count :) You can only do that up to AS, right?

Do you plan to drop one? The synoptic shit for Biology is absolutely fucking retarded, so I suggest either resitting that exam or dropping it.
This is, of course, assuming you have the same exam board as I did... :p

You both are going to have to take Biology again. And Chemistry. Spencer will not tolerate anything less than an A++. Anything else is sacriledge to the memory of the whitefish blastula.
:mellow:
What gives? Both subjects are fun! Literature sucks!

You pay homage to the fact you think literature sucks by spelling 'sacrilege' wrong. :p

I hated Human Biology with a bloody vengeance :p . And I would rather drink my own diarrhea than sit through ANOTHER two years of it. Or Chemistry, for that matter.

No wonder we have a shortage of doctors...all the crap they have to learn about stupid animals like insects and frogs...I mean, what the fuck? Why does photo-fucking-synthesis matter if you want to be...I dunno, a heart surgeon!? Why would I care about insect breathing methods when I want to cut people's livers open and fix them?

I can vaguely understand chemistry for being a pharmacist or something, but even then, all pharmacists do is push some buttons on a computer keyboard these days. And get £24 OF YOUR EARTH POUNDS per HOUR for it.

Thanks Bansh :)

I think chemistry was utter shit, fucking maths most of the time with titrations I never want to see another beiuret again. I need to resit biology again for failed it. No more chemistry again though ever!

Burn the heretic Ali! :mellow: j/k I have to agree titrations can be quite boring. Titration machines or whatever it's called, makes things a lot easier. There is some maths but not that much as with some other studies, imo. Good luck with redoing biology.

I personally also don't see why you need to know photosynthesis if you want to be a heart surgeon. But then again, I had it at secondary school (basics) and more advanced at uni (biochemistry II), I don't see what I need advanced photosynthesis for if I don't plan to work on plants or even organical stuff? But I guess from some things you just need to know the basics. The DNA and senses part of Biochemistry II were more interesting for me than the photosynthesis part. I'm glad we didn't have to know all reactions involved in photosynthesis (there's like 10 already in the glycolysis), I don't think I would've made that. Same as I can also say, why do I need practical? I don't plan on becoming an analyst in a lab. But it's good to know the basics of some things and I do feel I've learnt from it, even though I didn't enjoy it most of the time. I'm just glad I passed and that it's over. I think in uni, college or school, there's always courses you prefer above others, and there usually is one (or some) that you don't like.

It was Biochemistry II or Biochemical Analysis. And I don't want any more practical than the obliged ones. I passed with a 6.7 or something, out of 10 for Biochemistry II. I thought I would have failed but I didn't. I had two 6.something and one 8.4 (last one for the DNA part). And no, we didn't have to know those reactions. We were told about them (did I mention I almost fell asleep there on occasion?) but we didn't have to know details. I'm really glad for that.

I don't like biology due to the ugly names we have to memorized... at least at school :mellow:. Although the subject has a lot of interesting things.

Now, about chemistry... I'm kinda happy I no longer need to study that... definitelly :p.

Yeah. Stupid Latin and Greek bollocks. Tell you what, morons, here's an easier naming convention:

Oesophagus = Food Tube.
Trachea = Air Tube

Ok, keep your diaphragm and your stomach and your kidneys, but erythrocyte? oogonia? Fuck off. Give them names we can all remember.

Glyconeogenesis? "Making glucose from proteins." See? Isn't that easier to remember and to say?

Yes. I joined the campaign for plain English. You should see my change-of-name deed. Here's a typeout, copied verbatim:

This CHANGE OF NAME DEED is made on the 2nd day of August Two Thousand and Five by me the undersigned Ashley Mark Haldenby of [my address] in the County of South Yorkshire formerly Ashley Mark Searle a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by birth.

WITNESSETH and it is HEREBY DECLARED as follows:-

1. I absolutely and entirely renounce, relinquish and abandon the use of my said former SURNAME of SEARLE and assume adopt and determine to take and use from the date hereof the SURNAME H_____ in substitution from my former SURNAME of SEARLE.

2. I shall at all times hereafter in all records Deeds documents and other writings and in actions and proceedings as well as in all dealings and transactions and on all occations whatsoever use and subscribe the said name of H______ as my SURNAME in substitution for my former SURNAME of SEARLE so relinquished as aforesaid to the intent that I may hereafter be called known or distinguished not by the former SURNAME of SEARLE but by the SURNAME of H_____ only.

3. I authorise and require all persons at all times to designate describe and address me by the adopted SURNAME of H_____.

IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto subscribed my CHRISTIAN or FIRST name of Ashley Mark and my adopted and substituted SURNAME of H______ and also my said former SURNAME of SEARLE

SIGNED AS A DEED by the above named

(Blah blah signatures)

Date: 2nd August in the year Two Thousand and Five

Now NOBODY can tell me that that's not a complete load of bollocks to read aloud. And look at all the missed commas! THINK OF THE GRAMMAR!

And lord knows, this cost me SIXTY-FIVE of your Earth Pounds to get done. SIXTY-FIVE quid for a bunch of legalese alphabet soup.

As I said. Bring on the Plain Old English :huh:
