Yar. I was glad he finally got on the way to learning INI, but starting a huge mod like this doesn't really help him.

This really wont help. Making a big project like this.... will only lead to it ending. Unless you have some skills.

Well.... you can learn whatever you like first. If you want to be a coder... learn how to code first.... If you want to be a modeler learn how to model first... and so on.

I started with coding moved onto modeling and then to skinning. But i can also do other things now aswell

I started with coding, then moved on to coding and atm, I'm coding

No, seriously. Coding sure is a good start, in my opinion the basic thing of modding. Besides, a good basic coding knowledge is required to get everything else you might do ingame. I couldn't imagine to do a model/skin and not be able to put it ingame myself.

He is at it again!!! Ok here goes: If you are new at Coding (I have no clue how a modeler/skinner/whateverelsethereis should get his way into the modding World) start by making a few *small* modifications to your game. Then, if you think you have got it, edit special power. Shouldn't be too hard, just tinker with them to see what happens! Now you are ready to make a new Power. Your first will take a long time to make, but they get easier as you make more of them. Then, when you think you are proficient at that, Try to JOIN an existing mod team. Remember, JOIN, not START A NEW MOD! Most new people who come here don't realize that most of their new ideas arent really new. Most LOTR mods have a good deal of the stuff you listed! If you have no Idea who has a LOTR mod, here are a few names: Matias - Leader of Visions, Argolis - Leader of VAL's LOTR mod, Tom877 - Leader of his Mod/s. Any of those would probably be willing to take you (even if you are new ) and with their team you can learn how to be succesfull at this fine art we call Modding

And thats all the mushy gushy wisdom youll be getting out of me

woah fingulfin, you really gave him a good thrashing lol J/k

it's for his own good :p

anyway, you don't have to join a mod team if you don't want to (i never did), but you should at least be able to do the entire coding of your mod before getting artists to join it

and yeah, many things you listed aren't new, but you can still give your own style to them :)

True, you don't have to join a mod team, but it is the easiest way to make reliable friends. Its also the easiest way to get involved in a mod as well :)
