i just wanted to bring this topic back up to remind you of drakes hard work in *ahem* his maths lessons to produce the rather nice looking gun ship idea i suggeted a few pages back.

Pend, can you do one of those things, like you did for infantry gen on how every thing is coming along/and what you have planed/already done ?

As for the picture i sure he has looked but he prob did not have anything to say about it, good or bad.

And I would get away with it in maths if i was in school i say i using my protractor and compose(sp) to draw it... -_-

how about a suicide plane. Give it maybe the spectre model, maybe have some wires or demo traps booby trapped in it, and it flies into a designated area and blows up. Think smaller, lower cost atom bomb or something. Demo-big explosion;Chem-HUGE chem over ground; assault-...don't really see that gen having this power; stealth-the...plane...is....stealth maybe? don't see a huge point in that one since if it's late game, most players have stealth detecting units, and AA in/around base. so i guess it could work for the two other gens...

but it might be too edgy....dunno....whatever yall think

yeah, i wasnt saying it was just for my idea, i was saying that it could be used for the one i suggested, and others, like the bomb droppping one.

Forgive me for not wanting to read 8 pages of ideas, here are some of mine:

Saboteur Ambush (stealth general or more)
Spawns a single saboteur who can wreak havoc. This is a versatile power since saboteurs can mess up all kinds of things or steal money. You could probably make a less powerful saboteur that was not quite so messing-up of things - like adding X minutes to weapon timers instead of resetting. You could also have 3 different ranks of saboteur skill and then he could steal more money, sabotage power for longer or add more to a timer. If you can indeed make a custom saboteur for this, then it can surely be balanced - simply change the numbers until he is as useful as another level 3 power.

Technical Turret Upgrade (assault general)
Level 1 power that makes all technicals start with 1 weapon upgrade. You could combine with technical training (if Assault has that) for some serious infantry pwnage.

Reinforcements (any really)
A battle bus stuffed with rpg troopers and rebels spawns (making it drive in would be awesome if you could, but appearing at HQ is also good). I'm not imaging this as a drop into hostile territory... a plane drop may make it too destructive. I always find battle buses are a chore to produce, yet I really like using them. You could possibly have 1/2/4 buses spawning as a 3 level power. Make the buses have armour plating installed for bonus points.

If I think of anything else that sounds cool I would post some more. I don't think GLA should have the Shock and Awe style powers that the other teams have; it isn't their style. In ZH they only had the anthrax bomb for a point-and-click attack. It's ok for Assault to have artillery because that is his style, but all these suggested strikes and bombings do not fit with the old GLA... be more creative people, that's what being a terrorist is all about.

no, you have it wrong.

what i suggested was for assult gen, a strike power, he is not a terroist side.
He is a 3rd world army now. not a terroist cell.
Demo is gong to be the only side fully focused on suicide bombing
Stealth is going to be just that. not much room for suiciding/terrosing.

and toxin will have a small tech tree, and will barely have any suicide units- he will be more focused on attack.

PROTIP: I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to everyone who suggested strike powers.
It's ok for each faction to have 1, maybe 2 for assault general. But it can't turn into a USA tech tree where you have 3 different ways of bombing the hell out of something. Note that "spawn demo traps" and "terrorist ambush" type powers are essentially the same as missiles falling out of the sky, since they all blow up just the same.

I'd like to close this topic, as its VERY out of date with the current ideas for the generals...

But, as for powers as they are looking right now... Assault General actualy needs agressive USA styled powers. Artillery barrage and Missile strikes for sure. The other powers will have to be chosen as I go. But the reason is simple, Assault General's play style more closely resembles vinila china than a conventional GLA.

Think of the play style as if its on a sliding bar of "brute force VS stealth and slight of hand."

So, in these regards:

Assault will be depending on several high damage powers. Atleast 2 rank3 powers, maybe 3, and then atleast 1-2 more at Rank5.

Chem will get fewer damaging powers, but still more than the other GLA factions. Probably 1 or 2 Rank3 powers, and only 1 Rank5

Demo will get the expected 1 or 2 that is customary of GLA.

Stealth will get 1 at the most. more likely none, as they will be exchanged in favor of supporting powers.
