anyone hate how when your unwrapping a UVW the skin doesnt appear in the UVW screen, makes it REALLY hard to try and map it correctl;y, i however have found a way to make the skin appear, and thus we begin.

This is assuming your using renx

First open up renx, and the model you wish to UVW

Then apply the skin to the model, and unwrap it

Then go to the drop down arrow with the line next to it and select Pick Texture

Now go to selected, in the Scene box

now you should see the skin that is applied click on it and hit okay

and poof now you can see your skin makes it like 500000000000million times easier

@Haldir, hmm well its a handy thing if you didnt know it. Im glad someone bothered to write this up, it'll help SOMEONE somewhere. Personally i hate renx's mapping tool. But thats just me......

I do it alot, I stumbled on it quite by accident several months ago. I thought it was common knowledge though :S

I consider it common knowledge, not very hard to notice on your own. Still, not everybody is as observant as me, so good work. :lol:

you want easy mapping? map in 3ds max :ohmy:

but yeah, for the people who can't (or won't) this is a good tutorial. should help many peeps :wub:
