NEXUS does need balancing, but perhaps higher power costs for most of his buildings would be better (since all his defences require power, this might cause the player to work a bit harder).
I rather did like the price-reductions onvehicles. I think something else is needed to balance things, not just simple cost.
It's hard to work out just where the imbalance is. Is it that NEXUS is too powerful, or that the other sides aren't powerful enough? That's the real killer question.

On the question of Nexus too strong or the others too weak? I think it's a combination, really. A lot of the human teams' units tend to lack firepower - save for the super tanks... they hit hard.

Besides Nexus is more about units..if his army falls..he aint holding back with just his base so well..no big particle cannons or hellstorms available
Allied however will be getting some uppage in 2.0..Condor will provide the flying chrono prison style nastyness with heavy damage blasts so no its not a Kirov gunship with rapid fire pwn all..
Its more like strategic weapon instead for high priority targets strike.
and Allied battle lab penalty is degrading their chances in longer game as there is already running costs added so its on the remove or drastic reduce list.
as for FL... they are flexible enough already for just about anything IMO.

I HAVE noticed that the FL AI is sometimes harder than the others. I have watched an Easy FL beat a Brutal Nexus in about five minutes.
Terrorist tactics FTW. I actually found that FL is damn good at it. I had to resort to it in 1.99 >_>. Strategical bombing woo! Saboteur is teh awesome.
Oh, and the flying chrono prison thing... nice. Good way to boost AL without making them uber.
