Narn I Hîn Húrin

Contrary to what alot of members here seem to feel, I prefer Men over Elves. They have more of a sense of weakness, a knowledge of their impending and unavoidable death, and yet harbour great valour and hardyness. Of course, I like Elves as well, because of some of their dramatic backgrounds. (Fëanor, the Kinstrife.)
I enjoyed reading about Húrin and his children, and will do so again. Chances are the book will also contain numerous references to things beside this particular tale, maybe even some revealed mysteries or small pieces of new lore.
Just for the sake of it, these are my favourite characters.
Halbarad Dunedan, because of his great sense of duty and honour, and because of his loyalty to Aragorn and the Throne. I like Dunedain as a whole anyway, and this guy is a better example of a Dunedain then Aragorn in my opinion. I also love the Faramir character, the sense of drama in his relationship with his father and his strength and wisdom in other things then just battle. And of course, he resisted the temptation of the Ring. Brilliant man. My favourite Elven character is Fëanor, his pride, his sheer power, his oath and the consequences his character had for a big part of Elven history.
My 2 cents.

The story is glimpsed in the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales, but this is the the real thing! I can't wait to get my copy!
It is not told in a history style like Silmarillion, but the same story sort of style used in LotR and "The Hobbit"... This is one of his three greatest tales... these tales being Beren and Luthien (?), Children of Hurin, and the Fall of Gondolin...

Some people aren't familiar with the Silmarilion... and that is a pretty good description of Morgoth isn't it?
I liked the trailer, but it should have had more to do with the story than just telling about how it was on the same scale as LotR (larger imo, its one of the great tales)
