It's quite unexpected, but EA has updated their MOD SDK. The primary addition seems to be support for Renegade.

* Added the option to export terrains for Command & Conquer: Renegade
* Added the AABox option to W3D Tools dialog
* Added example Dazzle.ini file into the 3dsmax7/plugins directory, which enables the Dazzle option in the W3D Tools dialog. Renegade modders will probably want to replace that file with the Dazzle.ini file that came with their original version of Renegade.

You first have to remove the previous version before you can install the new version.

I think that it's not very useful, but thanks to EA anyway.

I'm sure it's a nice addition for Renegade-modders. But you know EA, they somehow tend to make a real show out of it...

There are quite a few who still play it. But mod it? Dunno.

There must be at least one really cool mod, which was mentioned by EA in the C&C3 Podcast... don't know the name though.

CnC Reborn which is based on Tiberian Sun and there is another one by many of the same people based on Red Alert.

The Renegade community is still pretty active for how old the game is.

While this update isn't directly BFME related, it's still good news. It shows that they haven't just kicked out a SDK and left it at that. They are continueing development on it and BFME 2 animations may yet come with a future version.
