i hate having to download the mod every time i play it and when i right click the download link and click "save target as", the mod will stay in my RA2 folder and RS isnt the only mod i play so im reaaaaally wanting it to be an executable that u just click it, a menu would come up and you could deactivate, activate the mod. cuz i've stopped playing this mod because its such a hassle to just start playing it!

You don't have to download it everytime you play it.. Save the rstorm199.exe to your harddrive (link can be found on the RS site), run it and press 'mod' when you want to play. When you exit YR with RS again, the mod launcher will clean up the files so you won't have any hassle with other mods. Next time you want to play just run rstorm199.exe from your harddrive and repeat the aforementioned steps.

Here's a tip: If you don't want Mod Launcher to clean up the files after you quit the game, end the program after it copies the files to the directory. I do this and then just use the RA2 Cleanup program to remove the mod.

ugh i never liked that RA2 cleanup program, well actually, i used to but since ive started playing mental omega, the expand98 bugfix thats needed to play it always gets removed when i use the cleanup, thats why i wanted an executable for this so that i dont have to clean the folder with that program every time i use robotstorm.

You can tell the Cleanup program to make a backup, which just moves it into a folder in the RA2 directory.. so it won't actually be gone..

Also, the current XCC .exe does exactly what you want. Any files added separately are not deleted or even overwritten (for example, let's say Apollo released a bugfix of AIMD.ini, it would override the AIMD.ini in the rstorm.exe just by being in the RA2 folder. :p

RS's mod launcher also saves its expands and ecaches as 98 so something must go wrong if MOs bug fix is called that too... :p

Ya, I learned that trick a few days ago when I forgot to toss out my custom YR rules I use. Clear minded Desolators with C4 is just far to bad ass not to play with :D. And I had some color changes, that was the thing that gave away the hack. I finely got to compare all the mods I've played over the years on fun instead of difficulty...

*cough* RS > YRA > MO *cough*

I don't play with the hack very often though, esspecially with RS...

That could cause problems. BTW, which has higher priority, a ini in the directory or in a mix file?

Since RS is the only mod I play, I tend to open the executable, run RS, then quit the executable and leave Yuri's Revenge.exe running. Next time I play RS, I just open Yuri's Revenge and it plays RS :D. To fix it, I open RS like you should, with the executable, then quit Yuri's Revenge before the executable. Then I can play YR again.
