The situation with people moaning about Vista is why the Beta 2 and RC's should never be released to the public.

I don't even have the option of XP any more, because my computer is evil and won't let me enable my video drivers and still start.

I'm running Vista Beta 2 because every time I download the RC1 or RC2 they end up corrupted for some reason and I can't install them. :(
I don't even have the option of XP any more, because my computer is evil and won't let me enable my video drivers and still start.
Get them on DVD, its easier and a nice memory of the beta and RC days.

XP ftw. However i do have vista skin installed though.
Where can I get the skin? Is it with a windows vista transformation pack?
Im not sure if I want to get the beta or a transformation pack because I don't have an XP CD (my computer just came with XP) and I'm afraid if I install vista and something goes wrong I wont be able to go back to xp.

I'm not using Vista until I know how much RAM I need, and if I'll need to buying a new gfx card for DX10. May as well wait for creases to be ironed out and upgrade all at once.

I was just over at a freinds (he runs a cumputer store) and he let me have a play arround with vista, and I'll put it this way, vista is not just a fancy looking XP, any skins you can think of don't dig shit compared to it, it only looks similar, unless of course you have a run of the mill computer. then while you can still run vista it won't have any of the nifty extras like the 3D window scrolling (like alt+tab but better)

Yes, but it will run about as well as a paraplegic.vista will run on 256 apparently, in the same way that XP will run on 128
