Admin mode is different to compatibility as compatibility is for older stuff, wheras admin mode is for stuff that makes changes on the computer. I think the only thing I need to run in admin mode is Alcohol, which gives a good example of the function, and works for me as I don't want my little sister adding random virtual drives and messing with my backups.
You can also just add restrictions to who can do what with what, which is good for stopping some users from seeing or running programs you don't want, or editing folders, etc.

Funny that. I need to run half my programs, especially games, in admin mode.

@pipinowns: Could you elborate further please?

MS-DOS 5.2 Floppy?

I got a bunch of OS's lieing around, although some don't have install disks. I got a laptop with 98, a computer with ME and 2000, 2 with XP and my Vista machine. Incredibly fun to get to pick up your schools old computers when they are thrown away; Gave a bunch of stuff.

I usually run all my programs in Admin mode just to be on the safe side; you never know when it will fuck up without it.
However, I do believe it can get bothersome to have to type in your password every time your limited-user sibling/child wants to play a game...

One of the best features though is the integrated Speech Recognition Software, which is a major help for people who cannot use keyboards for long periods of time.

Apparently, but my mikes rubbish... That or I shout at the level normal people talk...
Get bored of using a keyboard? Enter slate mode, sucker  Gotta love standard intergrated tablet support, though this touch is one of the reasons I can't run 95 on my tabtop, hardwares a decade older than the OS, theres no support for half of it :(
