Hey guys

What do you people think of Civ 4? It is good? Do you recommend it? Would you prefer any other game?

Post your views here.

If you're into that sort of game, it's good. It's a game you have to be in the mood to play, or you have to REALLY be into the way it plays.

Me? I need a cheat or two to make it worth my while to play.

Mod? You mean the Warlords expansion pack? Yeah, it adds a couple of campaigns. Think Alexander: Total War but in a turn-based strategy game.

The expansion is Rome: Total War - Alexander. It should be renamed Alexander: Total War....... I'm planning to buy Rome: Total War Eras.

I played Civ 4 like a mad man for about two months when I first got it, then I figured out you could edit any aspect of the game during gameplay and that completely ruined the game for me (you can give yourself nukes while your in the friggin stone age).....I haven't played it since.

Cheats (If you would call it a cheat) ruined this game for me, and have ruined many others. I know your all thinking: "but its you who chooses to use the cheats" but I still think that no cheats should be made for games.

I did find it an excellent game, and I really liked the civics aspect of it. Its a shame I dont enjoy it anymore. Im thinking of going back to it and some how forcing myself not to use the in game world editor.

I've started playing the game again now... I totally suck at it though, I'm gradually getting better though :p

It's a great game, very complex but quite rewarding if you do win it...
