OK, so you don't belive Russia would invade Poland or Germany?

Well lets see into the future a little combining a bit of the past, if the EU is enlarged, say one of the former Eastern Block nations decides to cut off relations from its old former boss, Moscow to try and snuggle up with the EU? And Germany is an economic giant, I think the UK is only just over them in terms since the Euro came in and messed up their economy.

This nearly happened in Ukraine and will proberly occur in Georgia, the threat of opening up to new markets away from the Russian dictatorship owned Putin Inc, This would certinally piss of the Russians.
The other way is that the Russians have some what of a coup de etat which is likely if Putin carrys on, Russian forces eager to restore their Cold War powers march on the West taking back the countries they sat in for 20 years of their lives.

Me as well. I'm thinking we wouldn't have much to do with it, as our armed forces couldn't do anything major.

We would likely become an american sattellite state, and be used for supplying the US with natural ressouces.

Although I dont agree with it, this is likely what will happen.

Yes, our military isn't terrible compared to the size of our population, but I still think it wouldn't make much of a differene in a world war where China, USA, and Russia are involved.

In terms of military, if we were to be a player, we would be a very small player indeed. However in terms of ressources (oil mostly), we would be quite important.

If Canada were to be invaded, it would most likely be in the west, as that is where all the oil is, and it would be a strategic location if there was a war between China/Russia and the USA.

The east would probably be relatively safe, as there aren't a vast amount of ressources (exept for maybe the metals and coal in northern Ontario/Quebec), and we are mostly surrounded by what would likey be our allies. (USA to the south, and the EU to the east).

If a war ever breaks out, Canada will flock to the side that the United States is on. If the United States falls, Canada does too.

Actually Ali I don't think Russia would invade Poland. Ukraine was always under Russian influence, now they tried to cut themselves off and Russia is starting to put economic sanctions on them (less gas and shit). They'll make them come back without any use of force. They wouldn't invade Poland because there is nothing to gain, same with Germany. Right now Germany is basically kissing their feet anyways, so...

Georgia has always been under their field of influence so it's only natural they will try to keep it along. There might even be a police action, but bear in mind that Georgia is a small country and most likely nobody else would commit themselves to stop the Russians from taking it. Now if they try and put their hands somewhere west from themselves, they will be seeing NATO soldiers crashing all and about, and they don't want that. I'm telling you Ali in today's Europe it's not the gun but the coin that is the tool of conquest.

Christ, Ali it won't happen. When will you start paying attention to the relations between the two? They're basically economic allies at the moment. Some german fat-cat went and said that it is their destiny to be the point of negotiation between Russia and the rest of the world (or something similar). There is nothing that could spark off a war between them atm. It's more likely Russia invades the US (even though a scenario where a meteorite hits George Bush on the head and puts him out of his misery is more likely still).

Im not sure if you understand this but Russia atm is outteched by any Central/western country. That and outgunned the Germans can produce more armor than the russians could ever dream of doing. That and the Germans have a superior and actually working economy. The Russians would not only be met by German forces but every other European nation. If Russia Attempted this they would be utterly destroyed.

In terms of Poland if the Russians ever did this, everyone in the EU would declare war on russia, Britian would delcare war on russia, russia would be crapped on like a toliet. In terms of their ability to fire off nukes well you cant do much about that. If this were to happen you'd have to hope this wouldnt happen.

Of course right now you grossly underestimate Russia in terms of technology. Bear in mind their selling superior tank designs into countires like China. Tanks that could easily meet an Abrams in open field, so..

Oh and Russia got out of it's debt rather quickly. Their economy is on the rise thanks to the total domination of their "Tsar". It's not as much whether they are capable, but what benefits would it hold. Right now it wouldn't bring any benefits for the Russians to invade Europe, simply cause thats where their biggest profits from gas come from. Too much resources invested into the Europe power base to now come and thrash it up.

You seriously don't have a clue what your talking about. Russian tech is some of the best in the world in many fields. They're massive raw materials and industrial capability makes me laugh to even read you post a statement like that.
