they could be given a pistol against infantry and deployed to self destruct. if they are killed, they will blow up as well, so it would add additional functionality without taking anything away. however, i don't know if giving them a weapon, even if it's just a pistol fits the aesthetic.

the hijacker fits the role with anti inf pistol and so does the the heavy gunner, playing them in transports or using in small groups is more effective, maybe typeimmune even

as for spider mines they pawn, remembers ages ago when elerium got raped by volkov deploying terror drones next to his con yard

RAPED? :D It was a fight to the death more like :D My forces were exhausted anyway as far as I remember on another person

Now Hijacker does good with the pistol, but it is a bit nullified as Terminators are immune to these bullets. He has several problems:

1) Usually dies before he can grab selected tank (unless Miners, but if it has guards Hijacker is toast).
2) Terror Drones will eat the poor guy for breakfast.
3) Useless against NEXUS infantry, barely gets close to the machine units..
4) If in the case of capturing a Centurion, it will go offline (as no NEXUS Core), but I think this bug will be sorted out with Cents not being able to shutdown in future.

This is just my past experiences with using him though.

i thought of something sooo stupid it is funny (perhaps not verry useful) a devolution gun that mutates infantry into monkeys

beyond the eternal pleasure of war, when the dead rule and the living die, and the pain of destruction has reigned. when skulls are crushed under the threads of heavy metal. when this time comes i shall arise and rule you all HAIL TO THE KING. praise all forms of xeno for they inherit the future

Ooo! And we could have the main character with this gun use the Legion's time machine in the far future and accidentally starts a new race of super technologically enhanced monkeys who use NEXUS Lasers! So we have a new side which seems practically unbeatable so yeah they kill off Nexus and mutate all human life into the new monkey faction so the main character goes back into the future and ends up in a world conquered by these monkeys! At the end he will stand out of the time machine with loads of armed police monkeys pointing at him with Lasers oh man this would be s00 c00l!! You could even have him say 'YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP!' in front of a Yuri statue!

I call it 'Command and Conquer: Robot Storm Monkey's Revenge'

Actually afaik it was one of those inner betas when the unit was being introduced and was originally named Devolver and turned all infantry into monkeys..of course the fun part was that the monkeys he made were not controllable and often went kill the devolver guy itself but of course monkeys werent of any use than a silly joke so changed to Infector with Gargs. :D

I think that it would be impossible to add it back in without messing up the infector.
I think mutations are hard code to one only.
