I was rather confused with EaW rts, I guess I really didn't get a good experience from it. Some parts I did, others left me unsatisfied.

My problem with EAW was the reinforcement points. This kinda limited the ammount of troops I can have in the battle, and not as boring as in Warcraft III where it affects your cash income, but it lowers the gameplay value. But mods can deal with it... so, there is no real problem.

I found the original EaW terribly boring, so unless people have such great things to say about FoC that it changes my mind, I shan't be getting it. I'd much rather spend my money on a game I know I'll enjoy.

Space Combat in EaW is worth buying the game for. Land combat might as well not be in it.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Land combat sucks due to the reinforcements points... but space combat is fine.

I agree with you Banshee. Space Combat has its limits of 20 or 25 points (depending on what side you play) but at least it's not as limiting as land combat (where 10 points is max). I don't know if I'll buy it, I'll try the demo first and see what I think. I buy games yet don't have the time to play them all.

I'm actually thinking of getting it. Though I'll probably try an illegal version before making my mind on spending €50. EAW has no online play what so over, but I guess FoC might get some crowd in, or atleast add some depth to the somewhat boring original game.

Bought it but the extreme anti-emulation security doesn't allow me to play it. :S

So I did. And they helped. Got it up and running now. Yay! :excl:
Go support techies from the anti-emulation company! :p

The game's great though. Really does add something to EAW. Or made EAW the way it should be to say atleast. :p

They are developping a new story in the Star War universe for this expansion, it's true. I'm not sure if this means raping Star Wars. You definitelly need to know more about the story to figure out if they are really cracking the Star Wars universe.
