And if so, who/what killed it? Are there still any decent punk bands out there that havent fallen to the pop menace? I can only name a few myself, Anti-Flag and Bad Religion for example. Are we actually stuck with todays so called "pop" punkers?

Hmm......
I believe it commited suicide itself because the wildness/impoliteness/stupidness. Most of the countries gave up punks except UK .

Wild, ok i can see that. Stupidness and impolitness, have you ever even met a punk? They are only impolite to those they think are jackasses, and stupid? Most seem to know orwellian books, and have a good idea of political ideas as well as having made songs about them. They took ideas to the masses and made people stop and think about censorship etc. Mainstream punk may have died out, but punk in its DIY basics is still there playing in people garages, and i think some will always be there to stay.

True. Punks are certainly not impolite, and are quite fun to have around. They are smarter then the average ''hey I listen to rock too!'' kids..

I love myself, i'm an idiot, but i love myself, so it doesn't mean i always hate stupid asses 555.You said it was stupid, which was completly unfounded, therefore i assumed you meant it only as an insult, not a claim at their intelligence, meaning you didn't like punk.
For example i licked the bottom of my shoes and my friends got their jaws dropped 101.
