I've been thinking about this new thing from Sony and I think it looks pretty cool. Even though it's purple it still looks awsome. Any of you think it's worth the $199 price tag?

I personally would find 200 dollars a bit much for an 8 GB player, but that may be me. Purple isn't a bad colour imo.

I use one while travelling to uni. In the very old earlier days I listened to my walkman (yes, with a cassette) on holidays to France. Many many years later I got a discman. I've had some smaller MP3 players when I went to uni two years ago and sometime ago when my 1 GB stick MP3 player broke I bought an MP3 player with a HD (harddrive). It's really nice to listen to music while travelling in my opinion, especially when one's tired. I usually rather have some nice music than the ugly mess all the sounds and voices pile up to in my mind.

So are you planning to buy one, since you made this topic? Or just wondering about it..

It's been out for atleast a year already now, and it's also garbage. It's got so many bad reviews from everywhere ever.

I'm going to go with no. But I have an 80 GB iPod I paid £240 (451.96800 US$) for, so I'm not one to talk. But of course here that 'walkman' would cost £130 ( 244.81600 US$ )

ya i was planning on buying one. I've read alot of reviews and the've all said it was a great player, just that the software is total crap. I don't want an ipod and this is the only other mp3 player that's got my interest. + its got the hardrive so i could use it for moving files, if i needed too.

I got discman but unfortunately it hurts my ear every time i put the headphone on (my habit anyways :( ). I won't use any on travelling cause what i do is listen to the new environment and if listening to music is wasting travelling experience. And if i lose it i won't have any non-computer music player at home :p.

For equivalent of £100, that's a good deal for the 20gig one, I would say. Good battery life it has, too.

Well, I have the 20gig one, and I've never had a moment's trouble with it. CONNECT player is shit, I'll openly admit that, but the player itself is good.

I've got a Zen Micro that I've had no trouble with, and works quite nicely.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Yeah, Zens are known to be good. They're just a bit pricey and a tad ugly-looking :p

I got mine from Argos for a good 50 quid less than it shoulda been. I think I got a good deal. :)

Wow. I envy you guys, especially you, Carni. All I've got is a little 256-gig RCA Lyra, as it's all I can afford. I guess that's what happens when you get rejected by a computer-sorted application for a job. :p

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

I make do with an old fat iPod. 20 gig but very slightly smaller than the now discontinued mini.

I know several people with video ipods but i've never seen them watch videos on them. I mean, honestly, who uses those things?

I watch anime on the two buses I take home from college on mine. But yes, generally people don't use them for videos. I just wanted most of my music on me at all times so got an 80GB one.
