Ah, yes, silos are making a return in C&C3.
What are your thoughts on the matter?

Personally:
Advantages:
--Tradition
--Adds strategic elements to the game

Disadvantages:
--Slows gameplay down(slightly)
--Adds vulnerability

There are more pros than cons in my opinion. Classic C&C lovers get something original, newbs to C&C get something new to play with and n00bs get ignored.

Oh, how I love those....I build and place ALOT of them in rows just for the fun of it. Plus, the detour the enemy from your base.

Silos existed since Tiberian Dawn. No question, they must be kept. End of discussion :p

Then again, the sidebar also existed since Tiberian Dawn, then look at Generals. I'm not getting at the sidebar here, but I'm just saying EA have been known to make radical changes in the past.

Silos existed in all four Westwood CnC games, and in the RTS Dune series games.

Generals also had silo superweapons.

Go figure.

This depends on what kind of silos we are talking about, tiberium/ore silos or rocket silos.
I myself thought we were speaking of tiberium silos... maybe this should have been made more clear though.

Ah yes, my bad

I'm none too fussed about Tiberium Silos - although they did make resource management more important. Too many games it's easy to just completely stockpile to the point where you could never possibly spend the money in the latter stages of play.

I am a total fan of silos. Not only does it make the ressource management a bit more realisitc, it's also good thing for the rather simple CNC economy.
In addition it's a big fun factor... I always liked to take over the enemy silos (which were often undefended) and ruin my enemy's finances or to blow them up and spreading tiberium all over his base... Yeah, I like the silos

Just for clarification, yes, I was talking about tiberium silos.
Sorry for any mixups.

The reason there is no tiberium silo in RA2 and Generals is the obvious reason that there IS NO tiberium in those games.

Ah, but Red Alert had Silos, you forget. Silos are needed, whether to stem the n00bish rushing tactics in RA2 that have no role in economy, to stemming n00bish tactics in Generals that, again, require little to no economic growth, period.

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.
Razgriz intrerpretation

Damn Silos were one of those things I never knew why I was building. All I knew was some voice told me "You need Silos."

Because you needed to store your money . What I did in half of the cases was just start building more units. But yeah silos are kinda a part of C&C and TS so it'd be nice if they put them in. I won't be heartbroken if they aren't in the game, though.

I hate silos, that voice gets annoying real quick.

they either need to hold alot more tiberium or not be in it at all.
