:p wonderfull Cel

The animations used in these renders are from BfME II, and thus cannot be used in BfME I (until somebody cracks the difference between I and II anims or EA breaks down and gives us plugins to edit II anims).

another possibility would be to ask some animator to do few anims for him ;)

hm...making bardiche (or what ever is it called) wielding character for BFME sounds like quite some challenge. cahik likes challenges :p

edit: Cel, catch me on msn or send me PM if you want anims for him. i definatly would like to give a shot to it.

wow, I don't know what's scarier... the smiley or the fact Cahik is talking in the third person... so I'll go with both ;)

I had originally planned to give him a bardiche, but apparently the blade of a bardiche is connected to the haft in two places, not one (as I have here for Gildor). I haven't a clue what you'd call this weapon instead .

Looks like a halberd... though maybe someone who knows more about weapons will have a better name.

As always, you're doing an awesome job there Cel, great skin and model and good ideas to go with 'em :p

Edit #2: for the Noldorin Warrior you've put (as a caption) that the render features both light- and heavy-armoured versions. I can pick out the small differences between the skins, but just so I know which one is the heavy- and which the light-armoured?

The ones with more armour (hip armour, chainmail sleeves) and more gold trim are the heavy armoured ones.

I also noticed that the Tower Hills Guards have swords by their hips. That's just for show, isn't it? No weapon toggling?

It'll work like the Ithilien Rangers, in that they'll use their swords by default when in close combat.

Interesting. Tower Hills Guards sound awesome, and thanks, I can tell the difference between the Noldorin Warriors now. Very nice work on Gildor Celeglin; a bardiche, I NEVER saw that coming. I was expecting a spear or a staff, since you said you were gonna do that. Meh, still good...

Looks like a halberd... though maybe someone who knows more about weapons will have a better name.

To me it looks like a cross between them. Until now I had no idea what a 'bardiche' was, but thanks to Wikipedia...anyway, a bardiche is supposed to have a short handle, whereas Celeglin's has a long one; and then again a halberd is supposed to have a spear head at it's end (and the optional pick head on the opposite side of the axe), but Celeglin's doesn't. It's confusing, but still, very nice work.

Hey Celeglin, If you cant find out how to get BFME 2 anims to work on BFME 1...you might consider using Saruman's movements for Gildor...Saruman carries his staff with both hands, and uses both hands to attack (in a swipe motion)...the only thing is when he is ordered to attack he carries his staff with only one... ;)

its worth a shot

Ingore the paragraph above...i Clicked Cahiks link after i posted...

No internet at home = coming into school on Saturday to do research.

...and during spring break...if it is Spring Break for you...cause it is for me WoO-hOo :crazed:

Well, it's called March Break up here, and I think it's usually this week, but I don't remember. I don't get the week off anyway (I will get the week around Easter off though, and possibly most of the week before that).

Did we ever find a mapper to make a Minas Tirith-ish Dol Goldur map?

Nothing has been confirmed. I've had people show interest in mapping and modelling.

You guys are lucky, it's Autumn down here and the weather couldn't get any crappier...until it gets to Winter. :crazed: Anyway, to Celeglin (at school), who has shown interest in mapping, apart from mh?
