Finally there's some news on C&C3. Mike Verdu has posted a blog on the evolution of Tiberium, though he does talk about himself for a lot of it. News post will be done shortly.

Crap. He explains nothing new at all, except one good thing: visceroids are back.

I think this is again another example of EA trying to cover their tracks, anyway, at least visceroids are back, and mutants too.

I really don't like it when somebody changes things in the middle of production.
I liked what they had before.
Some things are good, like bringing back mutants, visceroids, blue tiberium.
I liked that interface though.

What is really weird to me though is how are some areas totally uninfested provided that Tiberium was around for over 50 years in that game world. Some areas are unreclaimable, others are clean. Why the hell? Is that explained somewhere?

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

Wewt. I loved making random maps with lots of blue Tiberium in TS, and then using it as booby traps for unsuspecting AI forces. Hopefully it still blows up with a big boom.

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

The clean areas were cleaned by GDI's sonic resonators.

One thing I can say for sure. GDI has not given up on trying to contain the spread of Tiberium. With Tiberium infestation reaching critical levels and new, more sinister variants of the substance turning up, things look pretty grim for planet Earth from GDI’s perspective. However, GDI has found a vulnerability in the green crystal that they have begun to exploit. GDI engineers have found the resonant frequency for Tiberium… and they have created sonic resonators that are capable of breaking up Tiberium crystals.

Nope. Read the post, it says they only cleaned a part of Germany and they are only testing sonic resonators. According to the screenshtos by EA there are a lot more Blue Zones than that. That's where the inconsistency stems from.

Actually, sonic resonators are used to contain tiberium in blue zones to prevent them from getting any worse. GDI is now experimenting to see if it can be used to reclaim yellow zones.

But if Sonic Resonators break up the crystals, would that then not make loads of smaller crystals, which then replicate themselves, making even more Tiberium than before?

It's a material getting broken down, so it turns into basic stuff (atoms, minerals, etc.) then, it can't reproduce.

@Blodo

Some areas didn't get hit with the tiberium.

But I thought in Firestorm it said that within less than a year the entire Earth would be covered with Tiberium. It also said in the TS manual that the polar areas were the safest, with little Tiberium contamination, it doesn't say no contamination.

That still doesn't explain the complete lack of blue crystal you git!

Hey, smart one, blue tiberium is rare. Plus, they harvest it more. Since it's soo valueable, everyone wants it. Know where it went now?

Airman: But tiberium was supposed to cover the whole earth not just a few areas, etc. Remember that there was only one meteorite which it the Tiber river. The scientists then produced reports based on how it spread that it would cover the whole earth, and supposedly it was close in Firestorm. But then all of a suden CnC3 introduces unharmed blue zones, it's just inconsistent.

The moon? It's just inconsistant. I'm pretty sure they didn't just grab it all in a few years and render it extinct.

I was actually yelling at Verdu in the quote in a post-humourous tone, not at Banshee. Probably didn't come across well, my bad.

Sonic resinators and tiberium usage is what makes the blue zones blue. And no, it doesn't mean there is blue tiberium there, but there may be. Let's wait until the game comes out and then we complain--after we finish it.

Nah, then it's my bad. You quoted Banshee (who was quoting Verdu), so I misunderstood. Besides, I was also talking to Airman. And yeah, it was kinda late :p
Hope you can forgive me :p
