I'm having trouble adding an image to my signature. When I click on the insert image button, it tells me to enter the complete URL for the image. I want to insert an image from my computer. Can anyone help me out with this?

You have to upload it somewhere and then link to that.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Yes, it is a map that I've been working on for a long time. It's going to be a heavily scripted singleplayer map with a lot of new features. It has a large map.ini and a couple extra surprises too. Currently, I'm hoping to have it done sometime in the spring, but of course, that can always change. College has really kept me busy, so I don't have a whole lot of time to work on it during the week.

Thanks for the support everyone ;)

I don't think so, and neither will he be getting it, before the copyright is outdated :p It's just that most people make maps for BFME2 nowadays, since they have been making for BFME for almost 2 years.... And BFME has a singleplayer map in the campaing, while BFME2 only has a skirmish map, without any cool features..... (exept when you play against brutal armies, and you are IN helms deep... just defend the gate, nobody cares about other places....)

Yeah, Lauri's right. I don't have it and won't get it. I haven't played many (or even any?) maps for BFME1, but I might have checked out this one... if it was for BFME1. Meh, I'll stick with BFME+ then :p

I have been thinking of also making a BFME version one too. It would be a little different from the BFME2 one, but I think I can work around that. But first, I got to get at least one version done ^_^

By the way, why do some modders prefer BFME1 over BFME2? I'm just curious why this is.

IMO the gameplay is better, and the AI is more customisable.

Well imo bfme1 has a much more unique gameplay and style. Bfme2 is just like all the other rts games.

I'll have to agree with that too. The gameplay is much better on BFME1. But can't you create that same gameplay for BFME2? Or is that impossible?

almost.... atleast with the AI thing....
But the base system is, halfway, possible I think. you can have plots, but not walls? Haven't tried, but I would've thought that wall are possible.... EA had to make BFME2 another RTS....

Bases are done in the exact same way in BFME2 as they were done in BFME1. The defence slots basically replace the normal building foundations, then it's effectively an evil base from BFME! (i.e. no walls). I wouldn't see any problems in making walls part of a base in BFME2 the same way you'd do it in BFME1.

But the question is, why bother to convert the whole base system back to the BFME1 method, when you can just play BFME1 instead?

Good Point.
