Are we going to need the 1.01 patch?

I'm not even sure what it does, change a single line of code?

Thursday nite is the release. I'm making it a firm Nov 31st.

No the DC AI won't affect 1.01 as that patch does not tweak anything re: balance/gameplay

I look forward to everyone's comments on our first Advanced AI release for DC. Yer all gonna be in for a treat! :p

But but but... there is no Nov 31st!

It's a message from the AI team:

We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousand channels or expand one single image to crystal clarity - and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. We control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the deepest inner mind to... the outer limits! Please standby...

Yes, look for it Thursday night right at midnight, Thud's time.

At that specific point in time, when the DC AI Mod will be released, it's neither November 30th nor December 1st, but stuck in that eternity, that point of singularity, known as November 31st.

Thudo, I just wanted to be certain about one thing, concerning the shortcut placed on the Desktop after installation from the installer. I always started the game with it since RC1 to make sure that it'd load up the Mod properly. However I just tried with the regular DC shortcut, and the game is still running the Mod, so I presume I deleted to added something I shouldn't have ? Is it normal ? Meh I just noticed it ...

The modules are there, all is installed correctly. Did I miss some information about that ?

@Zenoth, it is "normal", see previous post from Larkin. The mod manager works, but the game load with the last mod so if you had a skirmish with the AI mod activated and then you feel like going to play online you cant.
You have to activate the vanilla DC in the game manager then exit to windows et restart DC with the standard shortcut...

About DC patch, on relic forums, Bugo said the first patch will be a localization patch and i hope that the mod will work without any tweak with DC 1.0 and DC1.01

The AI is very good now at least compare with the vanilla DC AI and i guess some people will cry for IMBA now that the AI became smart...

Relic's balance wasn't any better than their AI.

I mean, if you are Relic, how can you test balance with a broken AI for Skirmish Mode play?

Of course, there's going to be tons of imbalance complaints now that the AI Skirmish Mod has a working AI.

For Skirmish Mode play, Relic would have to start with the AI Skirmish Mod as its AI, and then balance for that. Then, maybe Relic would finally get it right, for Skirmish Mode play at least.

Now, if Relic were to balance the first two tiers for online play, and balance to the DC AI Skirmish Mod for offline skirmish mode play, then Relic might finally have something. But what are the chances that Relic would be so smart or creative or humble?

Relic is starting to show signs of being big, and big and famous is never all that good for creative programming or putting out a smart AI or a balanced game. It's the start of the decline for Relic I'm afraid. All the signs are there in their recent releases. Their quality control and attention to details seems to be going downhill.

Yes...... that seems disturbingly accurate. It seems as if Relic's success has gone to their heads and forgotten what makes a game good..... oh well, fortunately we have Thudo & co to try and fix their screwups, lol. WOOOOT FOR (near) RELEASE!!!

There is one thing you forgot the pressure from the marketing and sales department that push the dev team to release the game faster because the more time you spend on fixing it the more you got devs to pay and the less you get money back... PC game buisness is a buisness and even if you are passionate and focused about gameplay there are other people whore are more focused about money and now try to explain to these persons you need 3 weeks with 3 or 4 persons (that you will have to paid of course) to balance your game, guess what their answer will be...
So the lonely guy who coded the AI did well i guess with the short time he had

Can't wait, put DC aside untill your AI mod will be released  Don't worry about the expectations even if it's half as good as your WA one it'll still be 1000000 times better then relics one :p Imo relic should offer you guys jobs! I'd like to thank you guys big time in advanced for all the work you guys put into this!

Thanks everyone!

Still amazed at the massive legion of support in the last few days! WoW!!

Ya Guys are superb!

Anyway.. AI will be out tonight after 8pm EST (-5 GMT). Being on the Eastern N. American seaboard that is. We had a last minute change to the IG's Basilisk firing too many EarthShaker rounds thus costing the IG AI too much resources so had to stop that.

Im confused about the time variances...what time would this make it in the UK? we are on GMT +0. Does the minus 5 mean we would actually be 1am?
