Why does not people share there assets for RA2?
Sharing dont make it worse, it make things better, you dont die if you share, i just dont understand what happens to ppl.

No frickin idea about what you are talking about :)

There is plenty of people sharing assets.. some are made for a specific mod only though and does not get public until after release, that makes perfect sense to me..
If people were more constructive with their comments, then this place would be more enjoyable

Sharing assets doesnt make them better, it makes them used and old. Example, if you had an uber rare item worth millions because it was the only one in the world, and then you went and made a copy and gave it away, they would both become cheap.

There's nothing wrong with using a few public assets here and there, especially if they're good. Tweaking those public assets is better, and keeps the newness.

But nobody likes some no-mark who comes along asking for assets. You know where all the public assets are, Arman. Go use them, and stop expecting everyone to do your work for you. Asking a favour, perhaps with giving one in return, is usually reciprocated. Public assets are made public because the authors want to publicise them, not because other people want them to. I've said it before, but it sickens me when people think mod/asset creators owe them something.

People don't have to sit and make stuff for you to use, and I think you're and arsehole for slagging people off who choose not to.

Yeah I have tons of crap that I would never share because it is more like an embarrasment... I rather not share low quality work, most people are the same, why share when it is pure crap anyway? :p

I share unused good things, what use is there there to give away things that will not be used and just make the creator look bad?

And many people write fiction, paint pictures or even write code and do all sorts of other things. But they don't hit that copy button and give it to anyone who wants it. If you want to share your work, then share it, if you don't, you don't. I personally don't like sharing my code with anyone else, so why would I share my graphics if I made them?

Why can't you make stuff yourself?

I made my first voxel, a tank, in about three days, never having touched voxels or 3D modeling before.
I'm allready halfway with my second voxel, having completed the body.

And they look good.

So if I can do it, then why can't you try?

I ask this question, too. Even if you have no experience with it, voxelling is actually an easy task (well, non-turreted models, anyway, I never got the hang of HVA-ing tanks together). If there is something you need, then get the tools and make it yourself.

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

Why don't they make them public? BECAUSE THERE IS NO GUN TO THEIR HEAD MAKING THEM. If they don't want to share them, why the hell SHOULD they?

People like you will only serve to disincline people to share - there's no chance you'll ever learn or even try to learn how to make voxels or SHPs and so there's no chance YOU'LL ever share anything. And jammering like a n00b will only offend those who do share, and make them think that the people they are sharing with are ungrateful bastards like yourself.

Be grateful that anyone shares at all, and don't EXPECT people to share their unused assets. There is no law that says they have to, and the very idea that there are people out there who expect this of them only serves to sicken me and others.

Now grow up, and learn to make your own bloody assets. Then people might take you more seriously.

I however think this guy makes a fair point, howvever(from what i can gather) for the wrong reasons. Paradox seems to hate the idea of people sharing "If they don't want to share them, why the hell SHOULD they?" i think the obvious answer to that is to help other people in their projects. However, i do agree with paradox that people need to learn how to do stuff.
