I don't have ROTK but it should be the same as bfme2 and bfme I guess you could go to housecolor.ini and comment out all of the housecolor blocks there if you want to remove them for everyone.

Wont that also remove the color from the structure flags in the game, and the "markings on the ground" (the colored ones that appear when units are clicked upon)?

Either do it by gamedata as the others have said or... You can disable it in each units object.ini.

Hm, that changes nothing for me? Only the units own ini can change my units color markings...

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

just make a new .ini file in the "object" folder and fill it with your new lines from gamedata.ini.

What would one name that ini? Anything?
Should it be in a map or directly under the Object folder?

(my mod is a mod without the "-mod" command, but perhaps it could be converted to -mod when it's finished?)
(also - my mod reads other edits in gamedata fine (general settings for units and such) but this zoom, no)

To clarify, you should use the -mod command on your own game launch icon. This was you don't have to mess with any files from the game. Just add your stuff to you modded BIG file.

What Grim said is you can add custom gamedata stuff by making a new ini file named (whatever) and When the game luanches, it'll over write the existing gamedata because it's read AFTER the game files.

Place this ini file in the object folder of YOUR modded BIG file. It'll work...
