I discovered that everytime i opened my com, what i did is open Windows Live Messenger and IE for Revora. If you combines Messenger and Revora together that woul be cool.

1. Revora has an IRC channel, thats as close are you're going to get.
2. You can set Live Messenger to not start itself.
3. Use FF or Opera, IE is just plain bad all over.

1) Agreed. It would be annoying if anyone from Revora could talk to you at any time.

2) Agreed again.

3) YES! ;)

[Do NOT edit my posts, Dan. Especially if you're going to use crap grammar and a pussy-footed way of wording. It makes me look like a dick. And you don't want to try and do that to me, you patronising little...]

I feel excluded enough by the fact Rev uses the IRC thing for staff meetings. IRC is there if you want to use it, but as far as I'm concerned, MSN is best way to get in touch...there surely wouldn't be any sort of need for a Revora dedicated messenger service.

Go complain to the vocal majority of staff and admins that wanted IRC in the proper topic in the staff forums.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Already done that. I'm actually more livid at Dan's editing of my post. But yeah, it isn't actually possible for me to join the meetings due to my internet connection, even if I was willing to get IRC.

Try getting a Java based IRC client or similar up and running somewhere, that should do the trick.

Aren't there those IRC-intended shell accounts that some sites offer? Someone more knowledgeable would have to look this one up.

www.ircatwork.com is just a client allowing you to join a channel. A couple of others reported that I was in the channel, however it wouldn't load so as I could see what people were saying. It just died.

Same as I can't actually download any file off HTTP when I click 'save target as' or whatever. I'm probably behind about four billion firewalls.

If he's operating behind a firewall like mine, he'll have all the same problems I do. I haven't managed to get IRC working either. Along with P2P networking (mostly games of this type, which is annoying). Proxying and Tunneling won't do anything.

Yeah. It's all sent through a central uni hub to the outside...therefore not only is everything super-slow, the uni monitor like everything. All you'd have to do to stop me being able to visit revora is to talk about pr0n without deliberate misspelling.

What's really irritating is that I can send tons of stuff to other people on campus in no time (I sent a gig of music to another housemate in less than three minutes), yet it's dog-slow to get stuff from the outside.

Hmm, I never knew Revora had IRC.. could actually be fun if we used it more often. We're all nerd enough to use IRC I hope

Which already seems to be too much for me. My router won't let me, I think...
