I would take a look at those old concept arts for the none included scrin units... that would give you an idea where they got the main ideas from.

I don't think they look much like the original concepts at all, or much like anything that TS suggested.

I would assume that other sides stuff was most likely made to look less impressive/low tech so aliens got the real impressive look.

You're probably right on that score. Who's placing bets on the aliens having the hover units and big beam weapons instead of GDI?

I'm still hoping that it turns out that these guys are actually the ones who sent tiberium.

I think that's a pretty obvious and blatant way this 'story' is going to go.

Could just be the first wave.

That is too.

meh, I think overall it looks good, there's sort of a mix of many things that seem to have inspired the design.

btw anyone see the nice videos that were leaked? EA had them taken down as they were only meant to be seen on the pre-order DVD. it kindda spoils part of the Nod campaign though.
(good thing I got to them in time  hehehe)

I can't say much about the gameplay because of the rules, but I will say I've played the third faction and besides the basic rock/paper/scissors the new faction is the most fun when you get to build the later ingame units.

It is then that you will fully getting your modding minds rolling. The artwork is ABOSULETLY stunning. You can zoom in so close and the detail is worthy of the next gen rts games from EA. The particle fx just tickled me pink.

I'd be glad to send them via e-mail. Though I would imagine you've seen more at the convention than whats in these.
there are 4 vids: n°1 is a small behind the scenes where joe kucan and another talk about their roles, n°2 is a trailer with some in-game stuff, n°3 are actual in game cutscenes (coolest of all), and n°4 is a short GDI strategy guide.
btw, these were meant only for people who pre-ordered the game so I dare not post them here in case EA complains :p

I hope it's better than what we've seen in most screens... I'm honestly preparing myself for a dissapointment here... just don't think it can compete with THQ's newer games

I thought the same from the screenies, but screenshots cannot duplicate what the human eye sees. It's much better in person than the screenshots show.

We all said the same thing when we were there. Reality was much better than the screenshots.

Amazing. Previously, EA always managed to make things in the screenshots look two times as good as in the game...

Third 3rd faction did feel like a mix of Starship Troopers and Independence day. I think I'll leave it at that. ;)
