Near Camp Currahee, on the planet Onyx

The first thing I remember about my abduction was that my family was from Mars. Onyx definitely wasn't Mars. All the greenery was what first struck me, as on Mars there were only trees in arboretums, and the only kind of green you could find on the Martian plains themselves was algae growing over glaciers. I liked Onyx, because it wasn't all red and barren like Mars, more like the pictures of rainforests on Earth and the pine valleys of Reach. I felt very safe during our briefing by Lieutenant Commander Ambrose, that is, until he rushed us back on the Pelicans from whence we came. Being prodded by the DIs was not a very comforting experience, especially if you were unlucky enough to try to fight back when you were first struck. Then, they tasered you with the other end. I had a twitch for about three weeks from that.
When we got on the Pelicans, we were each given a parachute. Why, we didn't know, until about three minutes later, when the Pelican that was towards the front of the group began to unload its cargo. As we flew past, I looked out the open bay door on the Pelican I was in, and saw an incredible scene. Almost fifty kids wre in the air below me, starting to open their 'chutes. We were going to jump. After we were informed by the DI on our Pelican, a Sergeant Mendez, on why we would or wouldn't jump, I began to push to the back of the Pelican, ready to help humanity. But, someone else got there before me. Before he jumped, he turned, and pitched a wave towards the crowd of kids. This was when I took my chance. I dove out of the Pelican, eyes closed, ready to pull open the 'chute. In the night sky, it was hard to see anything, let alone find the ripcord. But, when I did, I pulled immediately. Everything turned to nothingness as the g-forces caused me to grayout.
