I recently inherited a 83 VW Scirocco - pic but the clutch blew. Waiting to get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix

Few hundred bucks, I'd assume. Not a cheap thing to replace, is the clutch.

Hell, you guys are so damn rich! My soon-to-be car (I have to be of driving age first :sleep:) : A 1992 Honda accord silver-grey. Back windows don't work and are held up by duct-tape, no AC, no Heat, Blinkers don't work (Last I heard - that may need to be fixed to pass inspection), in dire need of a paint job, seals don't work in some areas, leak in the trunk so I won't have carpet and that's bad cus I golf, Bubbly window tint, cloth interior, coolest rims I've ever seen - stock! -, broken steering wheel, the list just goes on and on. My dad says 'She's just a real fixer-upper in need of some love and care.'

EDIT: Better Pic but you'll have to imagine almost 15 years of wear and tear

I want a car to do up, but... Umm... A Civic? :sleep:
Get an Aston, Austin Healey, MG or something if you're after a bomb to fix and love. Hell, I've even seen 'stang's, Lotus's and even a roadworthy rustless E-Type for under $4k AU :grin:

I like how it looks from inside the car- There isn't anything to see out the front but the road. It's very nice. Besides- I'm only going to need it long enough for me to get a new car. In the meantime I'll probably get a paintjob, new wheels, and the windows fixed. It's perfect for a highschool student and I might even volunteer it for Mechshop Class so that the AC and Heat gets fixed ;)

I've got a 1996 Seat Ibiza which cost £550 and has done 94000 miles.
The insurance, which is pretty much the limiting factor on having a car in Britian at my age, is nearly 3 times the cost of the car.

Private plates and a CD player though, so it's a decent Ibiza at least ;)

Technically not mine, but;
Honda Civvy Hybrid (6 months now, replaced this Insight (refill with $2 worth of petrol on the first Wednesday of every month; efficiency outperforms nearly every car on the globe but its small and boring, and made entirely out of recycled coke cans), and a Smartforfour, which looks daft but is kickass once you've driven it (no, really).)
Soon to be replaced with SAAB Biofuel (one of two in Austrilasia, you chuck anything in the tank and the computer reconfigures the engine, but works best with a biofuel that you can't get in the southern hemisphere. Still, prototypes rock)
That little set of prototypes and planetsavers make the good ol' Ford Falcon Futura (now complete with leaky everything!) look dull (except the Insight, although Ol' Reliable has the power to go orbital, which is inconvenient when you're just trying to ease your way out the driveway), but last and least, proving there is no god (or that he is 3' tall as doesn't drive anyway), the dreaded Daewoo Lanos.
